Brielle POV

Despite Harry's nightmare, he seemed more himself today. He wasn't as distant, he was talkative again. If anything it was a bit of a relief, the stress from my coronation being tomorrow was enough I don't want my boyfriend to be sad and need cheering up. I'd do it of course, but I need to focus on keeping myself chill right now.

We simply parried back and forth for a while, taking turns striking at each other while we talked. We didn't even bother putting on armor, although Harry wanted me to for some reason. He seemed stressed out and told me he worried about possible striking me on accident but I reassured him that I just wouldn't let that happen. He had taken off his jacket so it was more 'even' he said,

"So, ye excited for tomorrow?"

He said whilst we began a low-key mock fight,

"Yeah, jittery too. I'm a little nervous, I've been preparing for tomorrow my entire life and yet I still don't feel as prepared as I could be"

Harry chuckled and shook his head,

"Yer a natural leader, I'm sure being queen won't even faze ya"

I smiled,

"Thanks, it's just rough having to deal with the other people. You're gonna see some of them today, the older residents and the ones that lived through the fairy tales we now hear about are quite the sticklers now. I can guarantee they're going to treat Ben and I like children in the beginning, and I'm not the one for that"

He raised a brow as we both quickened our movements in unison,

"Not the one for what?"

"I'm not the one to be underestimated, you haven't seen me in a debate or a fight but I'm as hardheaded as my father and I'm sure you've heard that famous tale"

"Actually, the most I've heard is from my pal Gil. I just realized that I haven't told ya, my best friend back on the Isle is Gaston's son"

I hitched my movements for a second before continuing. I was surprised I won't lie,

"Oh wow, small world then. What version of my parent's story have you heard then?"

"The one where yer mother used Gaston and was a terrible woman and married yer dad for the status"

I gripped my sword a bit tighter, no one gets to remember my mother like that,

"Well that's the most incorrect version of the story that I've ever heard"

I quickly tossed my sword up into my other hand and continued, I like training to be ambidextrous. It's just handier. Harry watched and his eyes widened some as he saw the sword passed to my right hand,

"What's the real story then? But also ye can wield with both hands?"

I giggled,

"Yup and the real story goes a little something like this. My mother was a normal citizen, the smartest girl in the village. Not just the smartest mind you, also the most beautiful. While most had to wear pounds of makeup, she never wore a drop. That attracted the town douchebag, also known as Gaston. He was the best looking guy in the village however he was dumb as a rock and an absolute pig. My mother never gave him any attention. I'll shorten this part for you because it gets complicated. My grandad also know as my mom's dad got lost in the woods blah blah blah found a castle and was going to bring my mother a rose since that's all she always wanted blah blah the castle had a rose garden and when he picked a rose from the garden my dad in his beast form locked him in the dungeon because he was stealing from him. Then my mom came and switched places with her father in the dungeon so he could go free, after that she found the soft spot in my father, and in the end, after a lot of complicated stuff my mother ended up breaking the spell that made my father the angry and scary beast before the last petal of the enchanted rose fell which by the way was basically a timer for how long he had time to turn back for before he would stay a beast forever. Gaston was defeated and my dad turned back into his king self and they got married. Four years later and Ben and I came to be, that's it as shortened as I can get it"
