They clung on to each other after sharing their first kiss, attempting to get their breathing even.

Raguel knew kisses were special, but he had in no way experienced it for himself until now. He just got his first kiss.

He had countless opportunities to explore what it would feel like, however, he was determined to wait for his soulmate, and now he was very satisfied he waited.

“The other Angel's name is Raphael,” Raguel finally spoke, making Elena look at him. “He raised me up in Heaven.”

Raguel was truly glad that Raphael chose to raise him. He knew he could be hard at times, however, in all that, Raphael never left him. He was always there whenever Raguel needed him.

“What about your parents?” Elena asked.

“I don't know them. Parents are not allowed to raise their kids after giving birth to them. They think it's a massive distraction to keep them from their Heavenly duty,” Raguel explained.

Elena could not imagine herself living without her parents, especially her mom. They had the perfect little family, and she was glad that at least Raguel had Raphael.

“Raphael looks like a good man,” Elena said.

“He is a good man,” Raguel replied with a smile.

Elena just nodded her head in understanding.

“I thought Angels lived in Heaven, so why are you on earth? Is it because you came to earth to look for your soulmate? How were you certain your soulmate was human and not any other Angel?”  Elena blurted out all her questions in a single breath.

She stopped when she needed to respire. That was when she observed that Raguel was quiet all of a sudden. His mood had changed and his smile had faltered.

She cursed herself for not paying attention to him.

“You do not have to tell me if you don't want to,” Elena said softly.

“No, it is fine. You are my soulmate and you deserve to know,” Raguel said quietly.

“I did not come to Earth to find my soulmate. I did not even think I deserved to have a soulmate when I got here,” Raguel said.

Elena gave him a confused frown, “I thought all Angels have a soulmate,” she wondered aloud.

“Yes, they do. But it is not true for Angels like me,” Raguel answered.

Elena noticed he was struggling with his words. So, she quickly cupped his face and rested her forehead on his.

“You don't have to tell me now. We have all the time in the world to talk about this,” she said.

“I know,” Raguel sighed. “I'm so fortunate to have you, but I should let you know now,” he added.

“Well, if it's what you want, simply take your time and I will be here to listen,” Elena spoke softly.

Raguel nodded his head. “I was accused of a crime in Heaven. That is why I was banished to Earth,” he said softly. “I was accused of blasphemy in Heaven, but I did not commit the crime. Some Angels conspired against me. I do not know their reason for doing so.”

Raguel's voice cracked a little, causing Elena to wrap her hands lightly around her Angel.

She noticed that it was really difficult for him to talk about that.

Raguel welcomed the support and warmth he acquired from his soulmate. He was very happy that she was there with him, because every time he recollected the way he was banished to Earth, without Heaven giving him time to defend himself, it always brought tears to his eyes. Though, he blinked away the tears that were forming in his eyes.

“So, I thought Heaven's punishment for me is not having a soulmate but then you showed up, and I'm, without a doubt, completely satisfied that you are here with me,” Raguel said.

Elena looked at her Angel and gave him a warm smile.

“So, what did you do when you were in Heaven?” she asked, wanting his smile to return to his face.

“I was a warrior Angel,” Raguel said smiling down at her and was grateful she changed the subject.

He recalled all the time he trained in Heaven with Raphael and the other Angels. He recollected the wars they fought. It brought a real smile to his face.

“That explains your skills,” Elena said with a smile. “Is Raphael also a warrior Angel?” she asked.

“No, he is an Angel of healing power, but every Angel knows how to protect themselves. I learned most of the things that I know from him,” Raguel explained.

“You mean Raphael is like a doctor?” she asked.

“Yes, he is,” Raguel answered.

“That explains why he was so calm when you were unconscious at the warehouse,” Elena said. “Anyway, I must head downstairs for breakfast before my mother comes right here looking for me,” Elena said standing up. “I noticed you don't eat and you don't bathe too, however, you always appear elegant,” she said, eyeing the Angel.

Raguel laughed, making Elena look at him with a smile.

“That was the most beautiful sound I have ever heard,” she thought.

“Well, I do not bathe because my body refreshes itself and for food, I do sometimes eat, however, it is not constantly critical that I do. Though, if you have any fruit accessible downstairs, I will like some,” Raguel said.

“Okay,” Elena said before making her way to the door. She looked at her Angel one last time with a smile before shutting the door behind her.

Raguel rested his head on the headboard. He closed his eyes and linked his fingers together. He was attempting to listen to his surroundings, but he was finding it very difficult because he could only think of Elena.
