It's not easy growing up different, especially in a town that has the population of 7 people, 3 goats and a goose. That's why I came here, to Corona. There's so many characteristic people that nobody notices one odd-bot. Sure, the weirdos here have a strange birthmark or a tooth-gap; and I have something a bit more unusual, that doesn't mean that I can't just blend in regardless? I've heard that the princess in Corona once grew 20 feet of hair overnight and saved the kingdom with a sun rock. I think nobody is going to notice me.

You're probably wondering what it is that's wrong with me. Nothings wrong with me, depending on who you ask. I was just born with a natural aptitude for 'influencing events by using mysterious or supernatural forces'. Alright, magic. I have magic. But don't get excited, it's not incredible or fantastical! I don't carry a wand around and boil frog legs in a cauldron. Things just happen for me that don't happen for anyone else. If something is falling I can stop it just by looking at it, if my tea is going cold I can heat it up by placing my hands on the cup. Nothing exciting. But people in a small community notice these things and get suspicious. Imagine being avoided like the plague 24/7. Doesn't sound fun? Yeah, it wasn't. So here I am, on my way to the royal palace in Corona to apply for a job. I don't care what it is; a maid, a chef, or someone who cleans horse manure. Well, maybe not the last one.

I stepped up to the main gates and smiled at the guards as they let me pass right through. Stepping into the palace square, I was met with a few people doing tasks or just having a tour around the courtyard. I asked a kind guard where I could find the servants quarters and he directed me to a door at the edge of the yard. Thanking him, I made my way to the door. Suddenly, a horse whinnied loudly and I turned to see it break out in a gallop across the yard, with a trainer hanging off of its saddle. He was desperately trying to un-clip the safety rope that was connecting him to the saddle, but it seemed stuck and he was being dragged painfully on the cobbled ground behind the animal. My instincts struck in and I locked eyes on the stuck clip.

"Solvo" I whispered as I watched the clip unhook itself magically and the trainer was released finally. I looked around to make sure nobody heard me or saw me, and let out a sigh when all attention was turned to the injured horse trainer and not me. Alright, I know a few spells. Nothing fancy; just things that I figured out myself. I never had any access to real spell books that had actual information. My spell learning basically consisted of me shouting gibberish at things and hoping something would happen.

I stepped away briskly and slipped in the servants door. Inside, I was greeted by a room of bustling workers scrambling around completing tasks. It took me a few minutes to find someone I could speak to, but I spotted an important looking butler soon enough. I stepped up behind him and cleared my throat to get his attention.

"Can I help you, Miss?" The brooding man raised an eyebrow at me. I worked up the courage to ask him my question.

"Oh, I was wondering if there was any jobs available?" I said in the most confident voice I could muster- I really needed this job.

"I'm very sorry, but we don't currently have any openings." He spoke apologetically as he turned away from me to resume his previous work. I felt a frown spread on my face with disappointment, and went to leave to see if anywhere else in the kingdom was hiring. But suddenly a door was flung open and an angry looking maid stormed in covered in something gooey and colorful.

"That's it, I quit! I can't handle this place!" The lady shouted as she pulled off her apron, grabbed her cloth handbag and left the building in protest. The butler stared at her in shock and then turned his attention back to me.
