8 - Daniel Turner - Abigail

Abigail and Ella watched as he emerged from the darkness of the trees. "Hey." He said. "Hey? Hey? Is that all I get? A hey?" Ella said angrily. He chuckled and walked over to her, hugging her tightly and kissing her on the cheek. "Better?" He asked. "Loads." She replied. It was Daniel Turner, Ella's boyfriend.
Abigail asked, "How'd you find us?" Daniel shrugged, "Long story." "We have time." Abigail responded. "I don't have the patience. Look, I was running around looking for Ella and I found you. I've been following you for about seven hours, waiting for a moment where I can walk in like a pure badass." Daniel said, frustrated. Ella kissed him on the cheek to calm him down, it worked.
They walked for a while, occasionally seeing a rouge diseased but never a large group like before. They only seemed to travel in large groups. It was either that or they didn't notice Abigail, Ella and Daniel pass by. "I've always liked archery so this was my first choice of weaponry. I left a rifle for Max.." Abigail cut him off. "Max is alive?" She said excited. "Well, I think he is. I'm not certain." Daniel responded. "Well that's better then nothing." Abigail said, trying her hardest to think positive.
"What's that over there?" Daniel said, pointing in the directions of some trees. "What? The trees?" Abigail asked. "No behind it." Daniel responded. "I can't see anything." Abigail said. "Well I do, I see our new temporary home. Daniel pointed out and started walking towards the trees. "Is it safe!?" Ella asked. "Most likely safer then standing out here in the open." Daniel yelled as he walked further and further away from Ella and Abigail. They decided to follow Daniel.
They walked through the trees which seemed to take forever. Daniel led the way as nobody else could see the house yet. They had already walked a kilometre and the girls still couldn't see it. They continued to follow Daniel, starting to be suspicious that he was leading them on a wild goose hunt. Either way, they were safer by his side, so they followed.
They came to the end line of the trees, "So you were seeing things?" Abigail asked. "Maybe. Is that real?" Daniel said, pointing ahead. A house, that wasn't there before, had appeared. "How'd you do that?" Abigail and Ella both asked in sync. "Do what?" Daniel asked before moving on forward towards the house.
Ella and Abigail stayed a few metres behind, whispering to each other. "What the hell just happened?" Abigail asked with a furious tone of whisper. "I have no idea but whatever it was, it was good." Ella responded, sounding relieved. "Something isn't right dude. A house just can't appear out of nowhere." Abigail whispered. "Well, it looks like you've been proven wrong, Abigail." Ella whispered before moving forward to walk along side Daniel.
Daniel walked up straight, proud and like he gave no attention to what anybody else thought. When Ella came and walked by his side, he held her hand. They had been in a relationship for over a year but Abigail had never trusted Daniel and she didn't think she ever would, even if he was her boyfriend's best friend.
The front door was slightly open and looked like it had been kicked in. Daniel told the girls to stay back while he scout the house to make sure it's safe. He entered the front door, returning a few minutes later. "It's all good. Just stick to downstairs, upstairs has a bit of a unstable feeling to it. It won't budge if nobody disturbs it." Daniel said before in inviting them in.
The house smelt fresh, like freshly cut grass and rain drops. It was full of nice, clean furniture and it looked like it's previous owner was a millionaire. Only difference being, it was to small to be a millionaires house. Either way, it reached far over Abigail's and Ella's standards.
The couch folded out to make a bed for two. Daniel let Ella and Abigail have the bed, while he insisted to sleep on the floor. Daniel organised some defences. He boarded the windows and locked all the doors. He then put furniture behind it to stop anybody who broke through the locks. "What if we need to get out in a rush?" Abigail asked. "We won't. It's safe." Daniel said.
As night began to fall, Daniel became more and more nervous, as if something bad was going to happen. Ella tried to keep him calm by cuddling up to him. It didn't seem to help much but she didn't give up. "What's wrong, baby?" Ella asked. "I haven't slept the past few nights because I've been getting attacked non-stop." Daniel said, before lifting his shirt. He had cuts and bruises all over him. "I just fear that the same will happen to you. If anything happens to you I'll never forgive myself." Daniel said romantically. "Awwh baby that's cute but I'm fine with you around." Ella said, kissing him on the cheek.
Abigail was a bit jealous. She was alone on the bed with nobody to hug up to, even though she needed it badly. She missed Max and his hugs. She missed his kisses. She missed everything about him. Ella had moved down to be with Daniel and Abigail assumed she's sleep down on the floor with him.
Abigail looked at the clock, it told her nine forty-five. "We should sleep." Abigail said. Ella and Daniel were to busy giggling and kissing to hear her. "Hey!" She yelled, gathering their attention. "Sleep time." Daniel offered to go on guard first. Ella refused, "You need to sleep and recover." Daniel shook his head, "I have ADHD, by the time I get to sleep, you'll be waking up. I'll rest my eyes but stay alert on guard. I'll be fine." Daniel went ahead, ignoring Ella's attempts to start any more arguments.
Abigail watched Daniel as Ella fell asleep. Whenever he looked over, she'd close her eyes and pretend to be asleep. He seemed nervous, that's what made her so suspicious. Daniel began to walk over to the girls. "Abigail? Ella?" Abigail shut her eyes and refused to respond. She heard his footsteps as he walked away. She opened her eyes quick enough to see him walking up the stairs. She heard chatter from up stairs, but it was more than just Daniel, somebody else was in the house.
