Impur chapter 14

"Aha!" The man's voice yelled, causing Ella to jump with fright. The car doors opened and they listened to the people talk as they walked away from the car. "Come on! This is our chance to get away." Abigail whispered at Ella. She climbed over the seat quietly and was about to open the back door before Ella pulled her back. Ella pointed at the front seat. A woman was sitting and watching the men outside, who were approaching a large group of diseased. "Quiet." Ella whispered as quietly as possible in Abigail's ear. Abigail opened the door slowly without attracting the woman's attention and stepped outside of the car. Ella followed slowly and quietly behind, looking back every few seconds to check if the woman had noticed her.
They sneaked away from the car and walked the opposite direction of the men and the diseased. They were walking towards a house, so naturally they checked to see
If the front door was unlocked. It was unlocked and it allowed Abigail and Ella easy access inside. They went inside and kneeled down behind the front window, watching the men attack the diseased. Some sliced their heads while others shot them. Blood was all over the ground by the time they had finished. The men all turned around and started to walk back to the cars. One stayed behind and poured a can of petrol over all the bodies. Once he had finished he walked a fair distance away and shot at the petrol, igniting it and causing it to explode and catch fire, burning the diseased bodies.
They hear a click from behind them, the kind or click you here when somebody loads a pistol or weapon in a movie. They slowly turned around to find two pistols pointed at their faces. Two man stood in front of them. One looked about eighteen the other looked old. "You have three seconds to explain why we shouldn't kill you." The older one said. Abigail was to frightened to speak so Ella took care of the situation, "We've survived so far and we can help you." Ella said rushed. "And how do you think you can help us?" The eighteen year old asked. "We.. Well.. Faith here," she said, referring to Abigail after remembering their fake names from when they were talking with Jonah, "knows a few things that come in handy." The older man looked at Abigail then at Ella, "and you? What are your skills?" He asked. "I can cook." Both the men nodded, "Come with us." The older one demanded.
Ella shook Abigail out of her state of shock and they followed the two men down to the basement. They were unsure of what was down there but they were to curious to leave the house without finding out. The older man knocked on the door and called out a word, "Ceiling." Abigail and Ella didn't quiet understand until the younger man explained it to them. "It's the safe word. We change it everyday. As long as it is two syllables long and starts with a different letter from the day before." Ella nodded, "It's a smart idea but why are you trusting us to not run away and tell everyone your code." The old man pointed his gun at her again, "Because I'm sure you don't want to be running away with a bullet in your head. You will help us." His voice was weak and deep, he sounded sick. The door opened and they walked in, closing the door behind them.
"This is everybody we have saved from those people up there." The younger man said, pointing forward into the dark basement. Once Abigail's and Ella's eyes had adjusted to the light of the room, they saw a large number of people who looked sick and injured. "That's a lot for only three or four days." Ella said. "It's been longer then that but nobody is keeping count." The older man said. "Okay well what's happening." Ella asks. "You're going on a mission." The younger one said, "We? We're doing what now?"
"You'll be savaging as many items and people, the ones that aren't diseased or preferred, from the wreckage of the explosion. Multiple trips will be available because there will be more than little." The older man said. "Good luck." The younger one said, opening the door for them. "We have to do that now?" Abigail asked surprised. "Well as soon as possible and you don't seem very busy." The younger one replied. "Great..." Ella responded, walking out of the door.
