"What are you feeling?" I smiled at Uno and reached for his hand. The whole day drained the hell out of me, and it would've gotten better without this fiasco between our family and the Juarez'.
They just couldn't let go of this wedding shenanigans, and it's tiring the heck out of me.
"Tired."
Uno sighed and pulled me closer to him, gently laying my head on his shoulder and then wrapping his arms around me, "Sleep for a while," he whispered. "I'll wake you up two hours before your exam."
I nodded.
"Okay." When I was about to close my eyes, Uno grabbed his phone from the table and stopped his FLIP timer—which he never does—since he always wants to keep track of his study hours. Napangiti ako no'ng binuksan niya 'yung Clock at nag-set ng alarm.
This guy... really.
I closed my eyes and relaxed my mind. Uno rested his hand on my head, slowly tapping his fingers against my cheek. I snuggled closer when I felt sleepy and held his hand.
God, I swear I can't thank you enough.
"Babe..." Uno gently tapped my shoulder. "Wake up, sleepyhead."
"Time already?" I asked, yawning and stretching my arms. "I want to sleep more."
Uno chuckled and pinched my nose. "I want you to rest but you have to study, babe."
I sighed. I suddenly harbored hatred on why I chose medicine. Natawa naman si Uno at inakbayan ako.
"Brandi..."
"Hmm?" I asked. Opening my notes in Biochem.
"I just want to say that... I might get really busy in third year."
"And?"
"And I'll be on hiatus in the band."
"And?"
He chuckled and messed my hair, "I might have less time with you."
I pinched his cheek, "Baliw. I didn't agree to this just for me to demand for your time. You're studying law, I'm studying med. To be honest, ang dami ring nagtataka kung bakit ang dami nating oras lagi. But you told me so... we're adults, we don't have that much time in our hands," I said and held his hand. "So, you don't have to worry... just as long as it's still us at the end."
"Of course."
I smiled.
I studied my lessons a little for an hour bago ako inihatid ni Uno sa classroom.
My hands were inside my jacket's pockets pagkapasok ko ng room. Sobrang lamig naman kasi ng rooms dito sa building namin! Lalo pa pag nagda-dissect kami ng cadaver sa Anatomy Room. Sobrang hindi enough 'yung ginagamit naming lab coats.
I calmed myself down habang hinihintay na pumasok 'yung prof, 30 minutes pa naman kasi bago magsimula pero mas okay na 'yung half an hour ka dumating sa examinations para less 'yung kaba.
