"This is his house?" I asked puzzled. "Couldn't be anyone else's" Jack chuckled as we gazed upon the mayors manor. It was shaped almost like his hat! And curiously his huge face was set in stone on the cobblestone in front of it. 'This looks like a madhouse' I thought wittingly as we walked in and the first thing I see is his hearse parked in the main foyay. "Is that suppose to be there?" I asked. "He always parks it there" Jack said almost matter of factly. 'How did he get it through the door' I asked myself. "Oh good!You both are on time!! Come into my office!" The mayor greeted us while peaking out of a door. We made our way inside his also somewhat lopsided office and I plumed myself on one of his chairs shaped like a spider.
"So what do you need to talk about with me?" I asked them both. "Well first things first, your parents home will be finished repairs at the end of the month and me and Jack have taken it upon ourself to hire just some employees for you." He stated. "They're both ghosts. One is the cook, maid and cleaning lady. Her resume was most impressive." He said happily and I nodded in agreement. His face became more serious as he went on "and coming into our other subject, the second ghost will be one of your teachers." "Teachers?" I asked confused. "Yes, me and the mayor will be two of your teachers as well" Jack added. "What do I need teachers for?" I said. Jack sat down in a high backed chair while saying "Do you know why your a "princess" Nightshade?" I was confused "because my mother and father were a king and queen?" I asked. "Yes that's true, but the thing is your not a queen" Jack said. "Yes that's right, both of my parents are gone so why am I titled a princess not a queen?" I asked. "You just turned the age when you were supported to receive your crown yesterday but the thing is.." "YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING!!" The mayor burst out. "You know almost nothing of this world or who your people were!! They haven't came back yet for they don't have a ruler!!" He exclaimed. "What do you mean?" I asked angrily. "Your people, the Mistlings just disappeared into the shadows after your parents death and they haven't came out ever since. They need someone to trust and follow." Jack said calmly trying to settle the situation. "So I'll be queen when I'm ready to rule?" I said. "Yes, I don't think it will takes very long. You only need the basics." The mayor said his calm face slowly returning as he sat again in the chair of his desk. "There's humanoligy, creatures studies, science and math, history and scaring." Jack said as he excitedly counted the names on his boney fingers. "There's no need for you do learn about humans, you've had a lifetime of them. Creature studies you will have with your ghost tutor, science and math you'll be with Finklestien." Jack smiled encouragingly. "I will be teaching you the history of the Halloween world and briefly on the others, oh I hope I don't lose that much time by teaching you" the mayor worried. "You'll be fine mayor" Jack assured to him "I'll be helping you with your scaring! Ganna make you ready for next Halloween!" Jack winked.
This doesn't sound that bad. I never went to school so it might be fun to learn things from other people for a change. And it actually sounds like subjects I would like.
But I'm also for the first time in a while a little scared. It's true that I'm not ready to be a queen for my people that are hiding in the dark and I have people to actually help me for once. But what if I let everyone down? What if I'm not the person everyone expects me to be? Wait a minute! Calm down, don't get hoped up. I'll take all this one day at a time.
I belong here, I shouldn't be afraid or stressed.
"That actually sounds great, I can't wait!" A said happily. "Thrilling!! Your classes will start next month then!" The mayor said more happily now.
Sensing that was all, I got up for us to leave but the mayor piped up again.
"Oh I almost forgot! You will also be learning potions and herbs with Mr. Noir."

Just to let you know, if you want to know what Halloween town really looks like for me you guys should really play or watch a walkthrough of the game Nightmare Before Christmas Oogies Revenge.
It's also like a sequel to the movie and I kind of watched it like a movie and I REALLY enjoyed it.
P.s. My story isn't based on the game as well, I just thought it would make more scenes because I'll be mentioning places that are in the game in my story like I just did in the chapter.
