I had come to Jack before to tell him I had the film. I expected him to ask me where I got it and why I didn't wait till christmas but he just lept for joy, hugged me tightly and ran off to tell the mayor to inform all the townspeople to come to the movie showing tonight.
I would have waited until christmas as a present but there were questions that needed to be answered and I needed Jack to see this. Not just because of the disappearance of Sally but to wonder if the Jack in the film was really the Jack I've befriended. I've trusted him the moment I came hear which is no easy job for me. I just want to know him. If I'm going to trust someone for a change it has to be someone I know.
The mayor had drove around earlier announcing the spacial film would be shown tonight and the doctor, Jewel and I were walking to town hall (the doctor was rolling).

The hall was packed! There were even creatures seated in the rafters and there were barely any chairs so some were standing. The mayor was near this contraption that was a VCR, DVD player, record player and projector in one. He was hitting it in frustration. "Alright mayor?" I asked walking over to him. Is face smiled briefly "yes it always does this before showing. Just needs a push" He said hitting it again harder "Or a good smacking" I laughed.
"Don't worry, it will be up and running in no time" he assured me. "You should go find a seat" He said focusing his attention again on the machine.
I could see the doctor and Jewel had already found seats near the side so I looked around for one of my own. Then I saw Jack flailing his arms happily, trying to get my attention.
With the loudest of whispers he said "Nightshade!!! Over hear!!" Motioning his arms to where he was seated in the front row. I giggled under my hand and made my way to him, he held a spot for me next to him.
"Thank you!" I said siting down. "It was my pleasure!" He practically bowed even when he was seated " This was all thanks to you" he smiled. "So are you exited!" I asked almost boiling over with excitement myself. "Haha yes, but to be honest I'm actually a little nervous" He laughed.
"I guess I would be too" I admitted. "Tim was a genius, so I shouldn't doubt his creations, but....oh never mind! Looks like everyone's hear!!! Time to start i think!" He said as he got up from his seat and made his way to the podium by the stage. Then hushed the crowd.
"Ghosts and Ghouls!! I am honoured to have you all with me on this momentous occasion! Not only was this film made by my friend which you all know but it also tells of a story which we all remember and must never forget. I know I haven't! (There were laughs amongst the crowd) without further ado, I present to you all.....the film that documented those great events....The Nightmare Before Cristmase!!!"
There were woes and awes form his speech like there always was. He was always so charismatic. I always thought he was right to be Pumpkin King.
He took his seat by my side and gave me a wink as the lights turned off and the white screen in front of us aluminized with the films intro. I instantly felt different watching the movie. As I listened to the haunting but lovely intro music it was like watching it for the first time because I was sharing it with all of these people.
It was silent, except for the film.
The doors came, the theme song of Halloween but when the quick glimpse of Sally appeared in the first song some gasped including Jack. Everyone booed Oogies Shadow in the moon.
We were half way done the film and there was an array of reactions from the towns people.
But at the part when Sally jumped out of the window to escape Jack garbed my hand tightly "I never knew she did that.." Jack almost said to himself distrutly. He squeezed even tighter when she sang her song and I could feel his bones shaking.
We didn't let go of each other's hands until the very end.
Sally was picking the pedals of her flower on the Spiral hill as it was still snowing gently. Jack had followed her and was making his way to her. They laced their hands together. So close and intimately. "We're simply meant to be" they sang.
I didn't tear my eyes from the screen but I knew Jack was crying softly.
They moved closer together even closer, wrapping their arms around each other and leaned into one another to share a kiss.
In that moment, Jack let go of my hand and stood up abruptly. He took long speedy glides down the middle path and barged out of the Town Hall.
