Nightshade Princess of Shadows ( A Nightmare Before Christmas Fanfic)

Human World

We were walking in only darkness the only light that was emoting was from Zeros ghostly glow and his jack O'Lantern nose. I suspected Strange could see more clearly with his night vision. We walked in silence.
There was a light like one streaming in from a door way and we hurried to it after Zero went through.
Strange and I opened both doors and we were amerced in the soft morning sun of the human world.
I lowered my hood down and shielded my eyes. The sun didn't irritate me as much as it did now.
I looked to me side and saw Strange squinting as well. He looked even more abnormal in this setting.
We were in a graveyard and we just barged through the doors of a crumbling mausoleum.
I heard a little bark to my side and Zero was looking up at me. I tried patting him on his head "Sorry Zero, you can't come. Wait here till we come back" I said and he wined but obeyed resting himself on the roof of the mausoleum.
"Let's do this swiftly, this world makes me uncomfortable" Strange commented while stretching.
"Were are we anyway?" I asked looking around. I couldn't see anything past the thick oak trees surrounding the graveyard.
He sniffed his noise in the air. "Don't fret, there's a sizable town about...." He sniffed deeper. "Five minutes from here by foot" he grinned like he expected praise.
"Alright let's go!" I said beginning to walk " Wait a minute! I need to change form. Imagine a human-like cat just strutting around! That won't do" he said chuckling. He began to shrink and his dark cloths merged into his fur that was now all over his body. Retuning to the state that I first meet him.
"It's so scandalous! You've seen me practically naked twice now!" He purred teasingly from the ground.
"I am NOT carrying you" I stated plainly as a started walking out of the graveyard turning right.
"It's in the other direction, luv!" He called and cought up to me as I turned the other way.
"And you better not talk so loudly too" I said sternly, still peeved with him.
"Yes your Majesty" he laughed with delight. "Oh shut it!" I exclaimed.
We were almost there. The town was pretty big, bound to have a movie store.
"Okay look for anything with the word movie in it, or even Blockbusters or something..." I hushed while walking on the sidewalk.
I probably look even more out of place than the first time I was here. I tall, skinny girl with a grey cape and a black cat walking at her side. Let's just hope that I'm an albino, ya maybe that'll work.
"Like that?" Strange whispered nodding his head to a blockbusters. "Excellent!" I said happy that the mission was almost over and we walking across the street. "You stay out here, animals not allowed" I said "fine" he looked disappointed even with his cat face.
I was about to open the door to go inside but " Oh hell!! We need money!" I face palmed.
"There's a spell for everything" Strange gave me a genuine Cheshire Cat grin. "Kneel down and hold out your palms" he instructed. I did so looking around so that no one was watching.
Then standing one his hind legs he began waving his paws over my hands.
I let out a giggle "what's so funny?" He asked mid-wave. "It's just that you look so funny! A cat waving it's paws around" I laughed. He continued the spell with his ears down, looking pissed.
"There" he said. I looked down and saw there was cash in my hand. "How did you..." I started "not important" he said "it's a trick spell and it fades away pretty soon so hurry up!" He gurgled me to my feet and nudged me to the door.
I was quick in finding it, and I payed with the money at the counter. The average joe working at the counter took a double take when I approached but I got out of there without any incidents.
I sighed in relief when I come out the front door. "You got it?" He asked. "Sure do" I said holding up the plastic bag.
A vehicle caught my eye as it passed by us on the street. My heart sunk to my stomach and the feeling of accomplishment was gone. It was the same van. It kept going, not stoping but I didn't want to stay long enough for them to come back. "Strange we need to go right now" I said already sprinting to the graveyard.
I expected him to protest but instead only ran at my side with a determined silence.
I couldn't believe we were already at the graveyard so soon. That was the fastest I ever ran in my life and it felt so good but I was still a little shaken from what I saw.
"You alright?" Strange asked concerned while changing back into his other form. "Ya, fine just....the van! Did you see the van!" I exclaimed. "Yes I did. We all know who they are" he said with a scowl.
"There's no time to explain! They might come back" he said probably seeing my always confused face.
Zero flew to my side and barked happily to see that I was back so soon. "Come on boy! We're going home!" I said.
He pasted through the stone doors of the mausoleum and we followed.
Through the endless darkness again and out into our world.
A feeling of relief coming over me. "Thanks for the help Zero" I said as he playfully tried to lick me. I said goodbye and he returned to his grave.
"Your arm!!" Strange exclaimed taking my right arm and examining it. It was the slightest shade of pink.
I didn't even notice, I didn't feel anything. "You should have been more careful! Do you know what sunlight can do to you?! DUST! That's what you'll be!" He lectured his eyes widening in worry. I pulled my arm away "I'm Fine!! Why do you care so much anyway?!" I argued but he only crossed his arms looking down.
I took the cape of and shoved it into his chest. "Here! I don't need it anymore!" I said walking past him.
"I'll see you at the showing tonight" he mumbled as i heatedly walking out of the graveyard.
