The last couple of days have been calm and pleasant. Because I don't know anything about hair Jewel has taught my some hair styles and she also taught me to cook some dishes like worms wort soup and others she thought I would like. We also got some new cloths for me to wear. The new Emerald green dress I'm wearing is one of my favorites. No pants! Only leggings under my dresses. This must be what it's like to have a mother. Jewel would have made a wonderful mother. But Dr. Finklestien is more like a grumpy uncle.
We came back from town with supplies for supper and I went upstairs to put my coat away in the closet. Instead of heading downstairs I made my way to the gigantic oval window in my bedroom. I had a perfect view of Jacks tower. That's when the lightbulb came on.
Sally!
Oh god how thick could I get?!!! Were in Halloweens name is Sally?! I haven't seen her anywhere!! She couldn't have not existed! This is her room! That's her sowing machine and bed! I have to figure this out somehow. The doctor should know!
I run down the stairs to the doctors laboratory room and come in without knocking. The doctor meant to criticize me for it but I spoke before he did.
"Where is Sally?" I asked in a breathless whisper. Finklestien wrinkled up his duck lips in distain. "Not here" was the only thing he said. "What do you mean? Of course she's not here!" I fumed. "Well then how should I know were she is! We all haven't seen her for years!" He said harshly. "What is this all about?" I asked. "It's none of you damn business! Now hear this, don't be talking about her to anyone, ESPECIALLY JACK! do you hear me!! Promise you don't ask anyone about her!" Under the anger he almost looked pained. "I promise" I said. He nodded his head approvingly and went back to work on whatever was on his examining table.
I went down to the kitchen were Jewel was chopping scarrits with a sharpe knife. She asked me what was wronged. I just said I needed to go for a walk and I really did. Down the stairs, through the gate, into the town circle. I decided to visit the housing area. Me and Jack came here when we visited the mayors house but I didn't look at the other streets.
Oh Jack what's going on? He seemed like himself ever since I met him, but I noticed that he's more level headed than what I new his character to be. "What happened to Sally?" I wondered out loud and a voice responded. "Oh so you finally noticed she's not here, did you?" He playfully purred striding up to me form a dark alley. "What do you want, Strange?" I sighed in frustration. "To help you, that's what friends do right?" He flicked his tail and tilted his head. I crossed my arms "Fine. Tell me why Sally isn't in Halloween Town."
He glided to my side and started walking beside me. "Well there are many rumours why and were she went. The only person who knows the truth was her lover." He said twirling his black tail. "Jack is the only one who knows? But I'm not allowed to talk about her to him" I said. Strange stopped "why not show him and make him talk?" His eyes glinted. I raised my eyebrows in question. "I've heard that you want to bring a film to Halloween town that has the Documented event of the famous Christmas incident" he smiled with an idea behind it. "Yes, The Nightmare Before Christmas" I confirmed. "Such an appropriate title, anyway. The both of us should just sneak into the human world and get it to show the towns people tomorrow at the film showing." He said simply. "But we can only go up there for emergencies, and how do we get there anyways?" I questioned.
"I have a way, but it isn't easy" he frowned letting go of his tail. "We'll leave tomorrow at dawn" he stated. "What's with this we? Why are you so willing to help me?" I asked. He started counting on his thin fingers "Une, because I'm your friend and future teacher so why wouldn't I give you my help. Deux, I'm the only one that knows besides Jack how to get out of here and Trois, because I'm being so generous I think I should be rewarded" he beamed. "Oh so that's what this is about! You want something from me!" I laughed harshly.
"Partly yes, and you don't have any other choice" he said giving me a big grin. He was right, if this was what it took to find out the truth then I guess I had to do it. "Alright then what do you want" I said. "Hmmm... Maybe a kis..." He slide over to me quickly but I was just in time for me to shove his face away from me saying "Hell no! Not that buddy"
"Fine. I guess I was coming on a little too strong for you" he huffed in disappointment. "This is my only offer than. You have to spend a whole day with me. Do we have a deal?" He asked sticking his hand out so I would shack it. I wanted to protest but I really needed to know. Besides I could just ignore him on that day, he didn't say I had to enjoy myself. So I garbed his hand and shook. "Deal"
"Fantastic! Meet me at the graveyard tomorrow morning princess" he winked as he was about to scamper of but I called after him " Hey princess is getting a little old, call me by my name"
"Of course Your Magesty, Nightshade" he made an elaborate bow before running off into another alley, disappearing again.
