Well this update took longer than I expected....sorry for the crappiness

"Etta and Spencer sitting in a tree-"

"You're so childish."

"My daughter's in loveee." My mom sang.

"Go away." I continued to walk up the stairs.

"Oh Etta don't be like that."

"Go die in a hole." I was almost to my room and I heard her chuckle.

"I'm just happy for you sweetheart. It's nice to see you happy." I stopped in my tracks. "Whatever that Spencer guy is doing I approve of it."

I smile. "Whatever mom."

I closed my door and attacked my bed, sighing as I sunk into the comfy mattress and quickly fell asleep thinking about the day's events.

~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~~*

Tap, tap, tap. Tap, tap, tap.

I groan and sit up on my bed.

Tap, tap, tap. Tap, tap, tap.

I look over to my window and something is taping on it but I can't see what it is from where I am sitting, so I get up walk over to the window. I push the window open and there sitting on a branch of a tree outside my window is the raven that I saw when I was in the forest listening to Septimus sing.

"What are you doing here?" I ask the raven. "You sold me out you stupid bird."

The raven cocked it's head to the side and it looked like there was an amused glint in its eye.

"Oh you think that was funny huh? Making me run for my life. Well that was not fun on my part." I crossed my arms over my chest as a cool breeze drafted in through the window.

The bird ruffled its feathers and let out a squawk. It started at me with its intense gaze and I stared right back. It kept tilting its head upwards and reaching its beak to the sky as if it was twitching a lot. Then finally the raven looked up at the sky and I looked up where it was looking.

A full moon. It was so bright and pretty. It cast a strange glow on the yard that was below my window. I was so mesmerized by the moon that when I finally looked down the bird was no longing on the branch but on the ground, pecking at something in the soil. The raven pulled out a worm and gobbled it up quickly. When I saw the bird eating my stomach grumbled. I guess eating ice cream for dinner wasn't that filling.

I turned away from the window and approached my pile of clothes that were on the floor. I picked up a fuzzy sweatshirt and pulled it on over the tank top I was wearing. I also pulled on a pair of my favorite black sweatpants over my shorts because the house was so cold at night even though outside was about 80 degrees. When I had everything on I began to walk out of my room and navigate downstairs to the kitchen.

When I got downstairs and passed my mom's room, she was snoring loudly. I tiptoed the rest of the way to the kitchen because if my mother knew I was up this late getting food she would just find more ways to tell me to lose weight. (My mother loves to be a hypocrite.)

I entered the kitchen and silently opened the cabinet where all the food was. I looked around and smiled when I saw a package of opened crackers. I shoved about 4 crackers in my mouth at one time when I suddenly heard a loud crash outside in the distance. I immediately straightened up and almost choked on the crackers I had in my mouth. I waited there, my heart pounding and praying that my mother didn't wake up from that huge sound. After about another 2 minutes of absolutely nothing I shoved more crackers in my pockets and headed towards the front door to see what happened outside. My heart started to beat faster as I approached the door. Oh Etta stop freaking out. It was probably a hungry raccoon looking for some food in a trashcan.

I opened the door but then I stopped. Didn't Spencer inform me about something earlier accidentally?  I pondered about it for another minute and couldn't figure out what it was that he told me. I shrugged my shoulders and walked onto the porch while munching on a cracker.

The trashcan at the end of my driveway was knocked over and so was our neighbor's trashcan. I shook my head and smiled. Silly little hungry raccoons.

I started to walk down the drive way in my bare feet, starting to feel warm in my over clothes. When I reached the end of my driveway I picked up the trashcan, setting it up straight and also picking up the other one.

I heard a door creak open and my head automatically snapped to the Clark's house. Their front porch light was on and indeed their door was opening and I saw a head slowly pop out. My sight was met with a mop of brown hair and brown eyes.

"Spencer?" I whispered into the semi-darkness.

"Etta?" he whispered back. "What are you doing out here?! Get inside!"

"What? Why?" I started to walk closer to him.

"No! Go Etta! Please."

"I heard a crash and came out here. Some raccoons knocked over these trashcans and I came to pick them up. I was going to go back."

"No it wasn't..." he paused and I heard a sigh. "Etta just please go back, I'm begging you here. It's not safe." He kept glancing down the street every couple of seconds.

Why did he want me to go inside so badly? "Hmm actually it's quite nice out here. I think I'll take a walk..." I started to head down the street some more and his eyes widened and he started to leave porch, heading towards me.

"It's a full moon...not safe out here on a full moon Etta. I can't exactly tell you now because my family is still trying to figure out answers for ourselves. Seth promised and I promise too that if we know something we will tell you the full story. Ok? Just go back inside please."

There was another crash down the street and both of our heads slowly turn to see a figure standing not so far away from us. Spencer gasped and hastily grabbed my hand and started pulling me towards the direction of my house.

"Etta, please, come on. Hurry!"

But I didn't move. I was too intrigued by the...thing standing there staring at us. It was wearing some sort of black cape that moved slightly in the warm summer wind. It was dressed head to toe in black and its face was covered also.

"Spencer...what is that?" I asked still not moving from my spot.

"You mean who?" he said. Spencer stopped pulling at my hand when I finally took my eyes off the thing and looked at him. My head was cocked to one side, my eyebrows raised. "Who?"

He shook his head. "Don't worry about it. I shouldn't have said that. Anyway, let's go. School starts in like three days and I don't want you missing out on sleep so close to school."

"Who are you...my mother?"

Spencer laughed. "Well I certainly hope I'm not your mother...or else I couldn't do this."

He was still holding my hand, so he started to pull me closer and my heart started drumming. His face came closer to mine and our lips touch for a fraction of a second before he pulled away, blushing. I bet my face was just about as red as his. Definitly was not expecting that.

I suddenly remembered that figure that was standing in the street and I immediatly turned around but I saw nothing there.

"Heeeyyy..." I said as I turned back around to face Spencer who was smiling smugly now. "You did that to distract me didn't you...?" I narrowed my eyes at him and his smile grew.

"I don't know what you're talking about my sweet Etta." He began pulling me towards my house again and I didn't stop him this time.

"You so did that on purpose you sneaky little devil." I smiled at him, not really minding that he distracted me from that thing. I guess I didn't know what it was. Kinda freaked me out.

"Good night Etta. I'll see you tomorrow?"

I smiled. "Yeah I'll be over sometime tomorrow."

"Good." He finally let go of my hand and started to walk back to his house.

I sighed and opened my door as I pulled out my last cracker and began to eat it, smiling as I thought of what Spencer and I would be doing tomorrow.
