I wrote this for my mythology class and I wanted to share it here so, you're welcome.

The start of an inconvenience, a sanctuary, an ending. You go there more often than you actually know. It had a very... rough beginning, nonetheless it was a beginning. To explain it, I have to start in the beginning. No, not the beginning, beginning. Just the beginning. Doesn't really make sense, I know don't judge I'm new to this narrating thing. I usually wander around and stare at the sky, not tell the story of gods.
In the beginning there were many gods but the two that ruled were quite a peculiar couple. Day, goddess of light and hope, the Queen of Gods. Abigor, god of nightmares and fear, King of Gods. Apparently they met over some ancient dating app or whatever, honestly who cares about that part. Anyways, Day and Abigor first children were twins. Dwale, god of thoughts and wandering, and Reverie, goddess of memory and fantasy. They were horrible to take care of, constant headaches and messes to clean up. Parenthood, am I right?
Well parenthood got worse when their initial talents were discovered. At their young age they would start "messing around" with the small beings in the second level. It was a hassall, to deal with. It got even worse during their teen years. Abigor and Day would have constant headaches from the humans. Prayers, to end the "plague of insanity". The insanity was just Dwale and Reverie giving humans memories that weren't theirs and intrusive thoughts. Random humans would meet up and talk about what the "memory of today" was and their memories were basically switched or altered. Now this is the sick part, Reverie and Dwale found it absolutely amusing when the humans would end their lives out of fear. Straight from the goddess herself, she said and I quote,"They end their already short lives out of fear, how pathetic and amusing is that?". I honestly don't know why I still talk to her, she's a bad friend. Don't tell her I said that though, she'll delete me from existence.
After a few thousand years, Abigor and Day had enough and decided to "let them go". So basically Abigor showed up to their room and told them to get their butts out of his castle and kingdom. "There was a great farewell party, it started when we left though so I don't think it was a farewell party," Dwale quoted. So they go to find some other place to mess around in. The first place they went to was the First Level, Home of Demon. They asked Amon, the ruler, if they could stay. Amon was genuinely scared of Day so he said yes.
Their stay didn't last long, they started messing around with the demons there and were soon kicked out of the dark land. Next was the Second Level, Land of Humans. They asked Stian, leader of the Nomads, if they could join the group. Stian was smart so he said no but he wasn't a donkey so he told them of special land. "It's a land between the Second and Fourth levels. Nothing exists there, no one has dared to claim it due to a giant head. Weird, I know.
The twins go to the land and see the giant head. It was literally the head of a giant, his name was Ted. The twins spent several days and nights trying to figure a way to get rid of the head. In the end they just decided to chop it off, like a tree. Just chop and it was gone. The giant's body dropped, I feel bad for the humans underneath. Reverie was the one to yell, "Timber!" The giant's body turned into the Andes mountain range, the world's longest mountain range. Oh well, bye Ted. They started to create their new world, sadly enough something had to stop them.
Their power hungry father decided that he now wanted the land below his kingdom, totally not because he was jealous of his annoying kids. I mean, who would be jealous of their kids? Certainly not this 4 year old man child, who got jealous of a different god who got the latest model of iPhone before him. So he invited them to dinner, a nice family dinner. So exciting. Dwale and Reverie knew what was up, so they decided to prepare accordingly.
They showed up with very fancy pieces of clothing. Guess who got jealous? If you guessed Abigor, you're right! He couldn't do anything about it while Day was around though, she would kick his butt if he ruined dinner. It started out peacefully until Dwale dropped his fork, everybody exploded. Abigor and Reverie had a thumb war to decide who was keeping the land and Dwale and Day sat peacefully talking about a book over some tea. Sounds like an average dinner but this dinner helped change the world. Sadly, I'm not being sarcastic.
It was an intense battle, thunder roared, the ground trembled. Mostly because Dwale was helping Day bake a pie and kept dropping the pots and pans. Finally Reverie won, she jumped on the table and cheered, not for long though since Day started throwing cups at her. "Get off the table you rabie infested toad!" Day was a gentle soul, she led her people with a calm smile, said no one ever. After their peaceful dinner, Reverie and Dwale returned to creating their world. It took many years, centuries even. Dwale couldn't decide on a color for his room, and Reverie couldn't decide whether or not to throw him in a hole. Siblings are an amazing gift.
After centuries of whatever they were doing, their land was finally done. Before they knew it, there were gods and goddesses being born from the land itself. There weren't a lot but they were too lazy to memorize everybody's names because honestly who has the time. They just took the first 8 that were created and decided to make the council of insanity. They're not actually called that, that's just the name I gave them because that's what they actually are. They just go by "The Council", personally I think it's boring so I gave them a different name.
The Council didn't really have a meaning, they were just kind of there in case of an emergency. Like a fire extinguisher. It's annoying to have around but it might save your life one day. Together they "ruled" Cloud, their kingdom. Cloud is where the living went after death. The moment their souls reach it, the remembrance stars. The remembrance is where your life basically flashes before your eyes. Reverie and Dwale place judgement and decide how your remembrance goes. If you were that little kid that left your legos out before bedtime and caused you parents to stop on them early in the morning before work, you get one of the worst memories. I think... If you were the kid to drink hose water instead of going inside because your shoes were muddy, then you get a beautiful remembrance. It's a very simple thing. The souls remain in the fields of remembrance until rebirth, if they ever get one.
The Cloud is also used as a place to reminisce, where your head is literally up in the clouds. For example, you're in a very boring class and your mind starts wandering about random things like frogs. That place you're in is Cloud. Cloud is there whenever needed. Are you trying to tune out your annoying substitute teacher? Let your thoughts wander to Cloud. Do you want to remember that one really important thing from 15 years ago when you were a toddler? Let your thoughts go to Cloud.
Cloud is a sanctuary for airheads who can't focus on anything and an annoyance to nerds who have nothing better to do with their lives. Sorry you had to hear it from me, but someone was going to tell you one day. Well in conclusion, Cloud is where your mind goes to when you lose focus. When your surroundings don't really matter for a split moment and you see and remember things from times you forgot. It's the place to go when life is throwing too many curveballs and you just need a little break because let's be honest, we all need a little break sometimes.
