Chapter 27: Victory

"You love me?"

The sudden voice startled me to the core. It was extremely familiar yet extremely unexpected. I wiped my teary eyes and looked down at my lap to see a smirking Yoongi. My eyes widened. I was extremely happy yet a hella lot confused.

"Why aren't you dead?" that sounded very wrong but that is what I asked at that point. Yoongi's smirk grew even bigger and he placed his head more comfortably on my legs. He then slowly pulled his shirt up to reveal a thick, transparent protective suit that was given to us for the mission. It was still on him and was covering his entire torso.

"Bullet proof vest babe" he exclaimed smugly.

"So you were acting all this while?" I almost yelled, I was experiencing a mixed feeling of anger and delight.

"Yep, pretty much" he answered nonchalantly.

"I hate you" I abruptly stood up, thereby making his head fall to the floor harshly. He distorted his face to portray his pain but it soon changed into a wide smile.

"But I distinctly remember you saying that you love me" he said as he came closer to me and bent down to meet my eyes. I looked into his eyes and that was my breaking point. I was overwhelmed and I couldn't pretend to be angry anymore. I threw my arms around his neck and attacked him with a bone crushing hug.

"I love you Jackie. And I'm glad that you feel the same way about me. I kept on hating you and pushing you away all along. I didn't realize the happiness, the warmth I've been searching for so long was nowhere but in your embrace. The love I wanted from other's my entire life was nowhere but in your eyes" Yoongi's words made me cry even more.

"I love you too Yoongi. Every fight, every argument we had made me fall for you more and more and now, I can't imagine a life without you" we broke our hug. He leaned closer to my face and was about to kiss me when loud mechanical noises started reverberating through the massive hall. We looked at the door and saw an army of robots coming towards us.

Shit.

Yoongi and I picked our guns up from the floor and started open firing. The robots however weren't armed but they had tranquilizer darts inbuilt in their system, which they started to load.

"The bullets are not even creating a dent in them" Yoongi yelled while continuing his firing. I just defeated Daniel, and I was not willing to die in the hands of some man made robots. So I started looking around the room in search of a way to escape. I looked up at the ceiling and noticed a fire sprinkler. My lips immediately turned up into a smirk as I made the perfect plan.

"Yoongi, bring them to the middle of the room" I yelled while running to the far corner.

"What? Why?"

"Just do as I say"

Yoongi started backing away and the robots followed him. As they were accumulated in the centre of the room, I lifted my gun up and shot the sprinkler. Water started pouring from it like a heavy rainfall and as the water seeped into their systems, the robots started malfunctioning and eventually broke down.

"Wow, you are smart" Yoongi exclaimed as he enjoyed the fake rain.

"Yeah I know" I gave him a smug look.

"Let's go back to the camp now, shall we" Yoongi said while pulling my hands but I stopped him.

"Wait, I have one more thing to do"

"What?" he asked, confused.

"I have a friend in here who needs rescuing" with that, I ran to the secret corridor where Daniel had locked that old man up.
