Sean's pov

I smile lightly as I wake up to Effie laying in my arms. Her fluffly hair in my face, the smell of coconut and shea butter wafting through my nose.

I missed this heavenly scent squeezing her close to me before releasing her getting up from the bed. Kissing her forehead I get dressed writing a small note of my where abouts. Getting my clothes on, I grab my car keys before leaving the clinic silently.

Getting in my car, I drive to my hotel. Entering in the room, I sigh as I'm going have to leave soon to go back to Connecticut to handle my company. Grabbing a pair of jeans and a t-shirt I set them on the bed before heading into the bathroom. I strip down starting the hot water in the shower. I quickly handle my hygiene routine before stepping in the shower.

I sigh as I feel the water run down my body easing my tense muscles. Washing my skin of yesterdays musk, I clean my body as much as I can before drying off with a towel as I get out of the shower. Putting on deodarant and lotion to prevent getting ashy. Slipping on my boxers as well as my clothes, I slip on a pair of sneackers before heading out once again I go to the lobby.

"Mr. Wylder what can I do for you this morning?" The receptionist asked happily. "Yeah. I need another three days and nights to my bill." I say. "Same credit card thats on the accounts." The receptionist asks. "Yes. I'll be going now." I say as I go to get in my car.

Driving off to my parents house I release a calming breath but I could feel the bubbling rage in my lower abdomen. Coming to a gated community I groan as I pull to a stop. "Name." The guard asked. "Sean Wylder." I say blandly he nodded opening the gate. Driving in I see two to three story houses with perfectly shaped rose bushes and shrubs.

Rolling my eyes at the cookie cutter lifystyle that my parent's wanted if I could call them that. Pulling into the drive way I cut the engine getting out my car. I walk up to the door and I dont have to knock as mom opened the door with a apron on.

"Hey baby." She smiled her short hair curled up as she wore a long sundress. "Don't baby me right now mom." I said angrily as I brushed passed her.

"Where's the old man?" I said. "His study." Mom said and I simply walked on to the stairs. I could here mom walking up the stairs behind me as I go to dad's study. Bursting through the door I was shocked when I seen Damen in yhe study with my dad.

"What are you doing here Damen?"I asked him getting a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. "I'm here to take what rightfully belongs to me." Damen smirked. "And what would that be?" I asked tensing up. "Effie of course. I can finally put her in her place like a real man should." Damen said confidently.

"You see son Damen and I set you up. I arrange a marriage with a nice wholesome girl and Damen can tame that beast." Dad said but I just smirked. "Good luck with that. If you think Effie is some boar that need to be whipped into shape your sadly mistaken." I sayed to them. "Doesn't matter she will fall for me. Even if it isn't until after our marriage." Damen smirked as he walked up to me.

"You do know she isn't something to be broken." I said getting in his face. "Learn your place boy." Damen said and I punched him in the gut. He coughed up spit but he punched me in the jaw and I put my fist up as I continue to throw hits even though Damen was dodging most of them.  "Stop this right now. I don't want blood on my persian rug." Dad yelled as he pulls us apart. "I'm done here. If I find out your meddling in my life. I'm not afraid to kill you." I said bluntly walking put the study. I turned to mom as she smiled at me.

"So my organic happiness wasn't enough for you huh mom." I say glaring at her. "No baby. Your father thought tha-" mom started but I glared at her. "You seem to forgot what I said. I don't want a maid, if I wanted one I would get one." I said to her.

"Don't bother me Wilma. I'll destroy anyone that tries to take my happiness away." I glared at her and she seemed hurt as I walk away.

I've always had the upmost respect for my mother. She had stsyed with dad all these years. When he cheated in her again and again. When he slapped her around for not getting his coffee right. I always respected her.

My father had always try to embed in my brain a woman's place is the kitchen or a nursery. That the only thing women are good for is spreading their legs. But seeing Effie's mom working day in and day out as pops had helped around the house though he had a career too. That was what I wanted. I wanted a equal relationship. Where a woman doesn't depend on me and I don't depend on her.

But this I couldn't forgive. Not only was she letting that tyrant control her life but my life as well. I can't forgive that. Driving back to the clinic after picking up a fruit smoothie from Tropicana and simple ceasar salad from Olive Garden.

Hearing my phone ring just slightly, I pull into a parking lot before answering. "Hello." I say. "Hey baby. When are you coming back?" I hear Peaches say her voice sickly sweet.

"What do you want? I told you to stop calling me." I said clenchingnmy fist. "Sean, you nees to stop running from this. Running from us. We are meant for one another." Peaches said through the phone. Hanging up I quickly change my number with AT&T.

"Fucking annoying." I growl as I beat on the steering wheel. Taking a deep breath I continue driving back to the clinic. I need to be with Effie.

Parking in my regular parking spot, I grab what I bought for Effie before rushing inside. Practically running to Effie's room, I go inside seeing Effie sitting on the bed. "Hey Sean." Effie said before placing her things on the nightstand

"What's wrong?" Effie asked. "Just let me hold you for right now. I'll explain what happens later." I said softly into her hair. "Well lets change positions right quick. So I can eat at least." Effie said and I grumbled as I released her.

Effie moved so I was sitting up and she was in between my legs as I handed her her salad and smoothie that was luckily wasn't melting yet. I hels her waist my nose in the crook of her neck.

"Effie we are together right?" I asked. "I'm not sure. You have yet to ask or even take me on a date." Effie joked. "I'm serious. Are we together?" I asked. "Not yet. I think we have to take things slow to make this work." Effie sighed. I hummed kissing her temple.

"I understand Tiger. I'll wait as long as I have to." I say softly in her hair. "Thank you." She replied and I hugged her tighter.
