"Where we going daddy......?" We walked to my garage, Deedee's hand in mines.
"We're going somewhere to talk to someone." I stopped and got on my haunches, looking at my daughter.
"What for......?"
I held her small arms and gave her a small smile. "You know I want you to stay with me, right?" She nodded her head and gave me a curious look. Summer had been bugging me with bullshit ass messages. Ever since the divorce, I guess she found it her mission to annoy me.
I couldn't block her just yet, instead Toya told me to keep any messages that came from her, so we could use it in court. I ain't want to, but I understood that this was gonna be a solid chance for me to keep DeeDee with me.
"I wanna stay with you too, daddy....." DeeDee said quietly, I pulled her hair behind her ear.
"So there's this guy who can help us with that and all you gotta do is talk to him. Be honest and don't be scared to say anything about me or your......mom....."
"I'm not gonna get in trouble......?" That made me curious.

"I mean......" DeeDee looked away. Now I was starting to get mad as fuck, cuz this meant Summer did do something. I sat on the ground in the garage and pulled my daughter to sit in front of me.

"Mom used to spank me, when I made a mistake......that's when she used to watch me take a bath." DeeDee lift her shirt and pulled the waistband of her shorts low enough. I saw the small scar on her hip.
"That's where you fell off your bike......" She looked at me with a small sad look and I saw the tear fall from her eye. I had to control myself, I didn't wanna scare DeeDee.
"She hit me with her hand and I think her ring scratched me......" I dropped my head, memories of pops hitting me when I used to get in the middle of the fights with my mom.
I squeezed my eyes shut and looked at my daughter with the pain in my chest. "Why didn't you tell me.....?"
Imma a man, it was no way Imma give my 7 year old daughter a bath. I ain't gon feel right. When Summer was home, I trusted DeeDee to give herself a bath. Cuz I know Summer barely paid attention to her. Jay and Tai helped me and showed DeeDee how to give herself a proper bath and shower. But I thought DeeDee woulda told me something as serious as this......
"She said that she would make sure you get in trouble. I don't want you to get in trouble, daddy......" She said quietly, her lips stared trembling.
I choked out a small sigh. My daughter didn't have to go through this. Seeing this, just made me feel like a neglectful parent. Summer had DeeDee this scared for my own daughter to tell me something like this?
"She do anything else to you.....?" I ain't care if we was in the middle of my garage, sitting on the ground. My daughter came first, before anybody and anything.
"She always yells at me......um.....pinch me....." I pulled DeeDee to me and gave my babygirl a tight hug.
"I'm sorry daddy......I lied to you....." She cried in my shoulder and I rubbed her back.
