I woke up to the rooster morning crows. My body was still beat from yesterday. No matter how much I didn't want to, I had to get up. I pulled my body out of the haystack. The smell was horrible. I haven't had time all week to clean my own room. The cows under me were starting to make noise. Gotta get started quickly before my master gets woken up.
I got out of my bed, which was just a haystack with an old sheet on top, and climbed down the ladder. The cows unfortunately blocked the path out, so I had to try my best to push myself though. My arms were killing me all the way through but I persevered.

When I made it to the door, I had to take a breather. I started worrying. I was already sweating. This was only the first of many other tasks I had to do today.
"No, get your yourself together Emma!" I said to myself. "Take a deep breath, you got this." I took a few steps back and sprinted to the door opening it up fully. A stampede quickly happend as all the cows ran out to get their breakfast.
"It's about damn time you came out!" a voice yelled. It came from the house next to the barn, it was my master's voice. He was a tall, thin man wearing a farm hat, shirt and having suspenders support his pants. His cloth was always clean since he never did any of the work outside.
"You got a hole lot of work coming today! Hoped you slept well for this is gonna take you all night!"
"Yes master, I'm on it." I said back, while moving closer to him.
"You start with moving the animals to the pins. There are gonna come some buyers today, so clean them up. Then you gotta begin the harvest."
"What? I screamed. His hand reached for my hair and while holding it pinned me down to the ground.
"What did you say!" he said straight to my ear.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"
"Remember your place slave" he said now letting go and going inside his house.

I stayed there for a few minutes, slowly recollecting myself. My eyes were watery and my body was in pain. If I could I would have screamed my lungs and bowled my eyes out. Instead I just got up. I have to save my energy. "Let's go..."

It's night. I can't rest yet. Master has been sitting outside on the porch all day. Watching me, making sure that I don't quit. I don't know how much longer I can do this. My breath is panting and my legs will soon give up. I've only made it about half way, but usually this task would be split up to last a week. It's been so weird lately. Selling the animals, speeding through the harvest ... is he planning to sell the farm? The townsfolk around have been worried about something. Something that was coming. What will happen to me then ... My legs gave up. I fell to the ground and dozed off.
