Footsteps were starting again. This time I knew it was from him. I was gonna see Peter again. I was scared, but also relieved to see him.
He came inside in complete silence, closed the door and sat on the bed. He kept his look down.
"Is something wrong...?" I asked.
"Explain to me, why did you think going out, on your own, was a good idea?" he began. He was now looking at me with cold black eyes.
"I had to, I..."
"You didn't have to! I would have been fine! I am fine now! It was a risk you didn't have to take."
I started to shake now, but this time I wasn't gonna sit back and only let him talk.
"Peter, listen to me, I may be small but I'm not weak!" I spouted off. "I'm not the same scared girl you met stuck on that pole! I can fend for myself now!"
"Oh, I'm sorry I haven't noticed your new transformation but to me you still seem like that kid, just more dumber!" he blurted out, his eyes burning red right into my soul. "If you really can fend for yourself now, how did you get that wound! How can it be that Haelan brought you here unconscious and at the brink of death!
I could have died. I lost so much blood, I'm lucky to still be alive. I hated to admit it but he was right again.
He grabbed me, locking my arms in a tight grip. Standing up now he pinned me to the wall.
"Don't tell me it's only now you thought about it!" he grinned. "No matter how much you think you have changed, you're still tiny! The slightest movement from anything can kill you!"
He kept tightening his grip, slowly making me gasp for air.
"Peter please stop," I pleaded, scared he was going to choke me. I kept looking at him hoping to get through to him. "Please..." I mustered up with the little air left on my lungs. He began loosening up.
"Peter what are you doing!" I heard Haelan scream at him from behind. He pulled Peter away,  letting me fall on top of the bed. "Are you crazy, you could have killed her! Didn't you see how red she was!"
Forcing myself to look back at him, I saw his eyes had cooled down to a navy blue. He was sitting on the floor, trying to compose himself.
"I am aware, because of that fact she doesn't belong here. When she is healed I'm gonna send her back to where she came from. It was a mistake bringing her here."
With those words he left the room. I pulled my shirt up and the wound was intact. I can't believe he said that to me. After everything I thought he meant to me - what I meant to him. It can't be, I have no future back at my homeland. Those eyes, digging right into me, I really hoped I never got to see them.
I looked back at Haelan... his eyes were red too. I grip the bed sheets for comfort. He caught me looking, as he stared for a moment. They began shifting back to jade, a bit darker than before.
"He always has to be so dramatic," he said, breaking the silence. "I'm sorry you had to endure that, I should have seen it coming."
"It's not your fault it happened. Can I stay here during my healing time?" I asked in a raspy voice. The choking made speaking hurt.
"You're more than welcome. Your wound is intact right?" he asked, as I nodded in response. "Good, I'll check a few things and bring you that lunch. I know it's gonna be hard, but try your best to relax. When things have settled I'll see what I can do. "
"You will help me?" I jumped up saying.
"Once things have settled, for now relax. I'll be close by to make sure that happens."
He left and came back with my lunch. While I was eating on the bed he sat at a desk doing paperwork. Even though we didn't say much to each other it helped having him there. It made me not feel alone now when I needed it most.
