I was completely numb and I was standing up somehow. "Why can't I move my arms." I said while trying to move them. My body was strapped! Both eyes shoot open. The sun was high up in the sky, blinding me for a couple of seconds. I looked around to see that I was still at the farm. My whole body, from neck to toe, was strapped to a flagpole. No matter how much I tried, I couldn't move a budge. The ropes was uncomfortable tight, so it made it hard to even look around. I noticed a sign that was put on top of masters house.
Suddenly the door to the house opened up. Out came a young boy. He looked quite similar to me, in the sense that he was skittish, malnourished and wore baggy and dirty clothes too. He looked over to me and almost stumbled over when he noticed that I was awake. Quickly he ran towards a horse waiting for him. "No, wait please," I screamed at the top of my lungs. Luckily he stopped up, looking at me scared. "Please, what's going on!""I'm sorry to tell you this, but you been replaced." What, is he serious? "A giant is coming soon, so to protect the farm from destruction our master has decided to put you up as a sacrifice." My face must have scared him, because he quickly got on the horse and rided off.
Why, was this happening? Was I not good enough? I always did everything he told me. Was it because I fainted yesterday? Was that the deciding factor that made him give up on me?
I could feel my body slowly drifting off. Must be the ropes stopping the blood flow around my body. I would have allowed myself to do it, but the lingering fear of my fate kept me from relaxing. I had nowhere to go. Even if I happen to get away from it, where would I go? Before I even could think to answer any of these questions my body got the better of me and I passed out.
I woke the next day tired, hungry, but more importantly thirsty. The sun was burning me up in the cloudless sky. Through it all, I just tried my best to keep my focus off hunger and thirst.
Suddenly the ground started to shake. It was happening in small intervals. Each time it happened it got stronger and stronger. I looked up and to my horror I saw him coming. The giant was coming. My whole body started shaking and with my last bit of energy I tried to get out, though still with no avail. All I could do was watch as he slowly made its way over to me. The shakes stopped as he halted in front of the house to look at the sign. He then scanned the area until it's eyes finally fell on me. He then switched his sight from the sign to me continuously, with his face becoming sadder each time he looked at me. He slowly sat down, while trying not to break anything along the way. His sky blue eyes then stopped by me again, eyeing every detail the ropes would show. I was doing the same. He had a kind face. He was wearing a long armed tunic, trousers and leather shoes. His black hair softly blew with the wind.
He began rummaging in his pockets, until his hands came out ... with a knife! Slowly his hand came closer and closer. I closed my eyes and I started to shake even more. Then I could feel the cold blade against my neck. A single tear fell down my face. My life was now at the mercy of this giant.
