Chapter 58: Midwife's Visit.

8 months & 3 weeks pregnant..

Angie and German rang their midwife to tell her that they think little bean has moved into position and that she is kicking more than normally. Obviously German was more worried than Angie. He has made such a big fuss over the past couple of months.

Angie was sat on the sofa while German was in the kitchen

"German..what time is the midwife coming?!.

"She is coming in 20 minutes..don't worry everything will be okay?".

"German, i'm not worried...it's normal for a baby to kick. Little bean is just letting me know she's fine and is almost ready".

"Angie..you look like your ready to pop anyway".

Angie raised her eyebrow.

"Well that was rude".

"I'm sorry Angie, I didn't mean it in a mean way. It's just your bump is pretty big".

"I know German, i'm an elephant that waddles like a penguin..I know".

German began to laugh.

"Angie, don't put yourself down like that. Your my beautiful wife, you glow and shine like the sun. You light up my whole world!".

Angie started to blush..

"See there you again..making me blush.  I feel butterfly' in my stomach but I think that might be little bean just kicking".

They both began to laugh at this point.

xxx 20 Minutes Passed xxx

The midwife was here.

"Hello Angie, so how are you doing?".

"Hi Jane, i'm doing fine..German's just a little worried about little bean".

"What's he worried for?".

Jane sat next to Angie on the sofa.

"He is worried because little bean has kicked quite alot and I felt her move".

"Is that all i've been called out for?" asked Jane as she began to laugh.  So did Angie.

German came out of his office and walked into the living room..he looked at Jane and Angie confused.

"What's so funny?" asked German.

"You are" replied Angie.

"I don't understand?".

"Jane, I think you better tell him..I can hardly breathe from all this laughter".

Jane turned to face German. She took a deep breathe in and out.

"German, the funny thing is that i've been called out here because you were worried about the baby kicking Angie..sometimes more than usual. Is that correct?".

German nodded..still looking confused.

"Well..it's completely 100% normal for a unborn baby to kick. It just means little bean is healthy and active. I think she is preparing to come into the world..as you say you felt her move. Your only a week away from your due date..so be patient and don't worry. Everything is fine".

"I feel so stupid for calling you out on a Sunday, I'm sorry Jane" said German.

"Honestly it's fine German, i'll be honest with you. A lot of my patient's do call me out with the same situation so don' feel stupid".

Angie grabbed hold of German's hand.

"Anyway I must be off, I have another one of my Mother's to be. She is pregnant with her fifth child".

"Fifth?! Ooo I don't think I could have five but thank you for coming Jane" replied Angie.

"Yeah Jane, thanks. I'll see you out".

German saw Jane to her car.

"German must feel so silly, bless him. He cares alot, he has been so supportive and hands on with my pregnancy. I have the best husband" muttered Angie to herself.
