The Fairy Fox: Shen Yan and Lu Yin

Chapter 17

Whenever that man, her other daddy came to see her she could always sense him. He never approached her, he just looked at her from afar and then left. One time he followed them home but kept a safe distance so he could not be spotted, but she always saw him because she could sense him. Yue Yue knew that her other daddy and her daddy had issues to work out.

Ever since that day at the hospital she would find her father drift away into his own thoughts. They clearly thought of each other and were longing for one another, why couldn't they meet? These adults were so complicated. She wanted to get to know her other daddy as soon as possible, he seemed like an interesting person. She had enquired from Jing jiejie about the Shen family. Her other daddy was an only child, he must be very lonely just like she was.

She had to find a way to untangle this mess. Her daddy was such a decisive person, how come he was hesitating when it came to her other daddy?

So she came up with a plan, if they didn't want to meet then she would force them to meet. Pity that her plan needed that stinky brat Qiu Xing's help.

One day after school she called her Jing jiejie to let her know that she was going to study with a friend and that she need not come to pick her up.

Of course Jing jiejie had wanted to confirm with that brat and his bodyguards. After getting the information she needed, along with the address, the phone numbers of Qiu Xing's parents she finally agreed. Yue Yue had asked her Jing jiejie that she would let her father know so he could come to pick her up from Qiu Xing's home.

Why did she pick Qiu Xing? Well it's very simple, after the beating last time the brat had actually become a somewhat decent person to her and had seemingly wanted to be friends even though he didn't outwardly say it because of his arrogance. She was of course a magnanimous person, her daddy had taught her well. Plus being born and raised in the fairy fox clan she developed a sense of family. Everyone is family in the clan.

Anyway now Yue Yue was sitting inside Qiu Xing's van to go to the Qiu house in Town M. At the hospital she had discovered that Qiu Xing and her grandparents seem to know each other and perhaps were even as close as neighbours. Therefore she was hoping that they were neighbours because that would make her task easier, but if they were not she and Qiu Xing could use the guise of exploring the place to go there.

Yue Yue was looking forward to seeing her daddy and couldn't hide her excitement. Qiu Xing just kept looking at her somewhat coldly. Feeling his gaze she turned around and stared back at him. Qiu Xing couldn't understand what gave this tiny girl so much confidence. She was clearly very tiny but she could pull off a very intimidating aura so well and she wasn't just bluffing. The girl more times than not carried out what she said she would do. It made him so curious.

Most times no one would suspect that such a girl who looked cute and girly can be a tyrant and very cunning. However judging from her father that day he somehow understood where she might get it from. He had only been in that man's presence for a few minutes and yet he couldn't lift his head. Even his aunt, a well known tyrant in this city was subdued.

"You, that man who came to pick you up that day at the hospital, is he really your biological dad?" It really was a curious thing, the man looked like a high school teenager!

Yue Yue narrowed her eyes and looked at him briefly before she smiled, seemingly very amused. "Of course he's my daddy, him and I share the same blood and clan."

Qiu Xing already knew the answer, he just wanted to check. Hearing her answer he quietly accepted it and looked away. Yue Yue chuckled good naturedly. Despite the boy having a very bad attitude he was still cute. He reminded her of one of the clan members whom she calls uncle Chou. He was just as bad tempered and arrogant, however he was also very sweet he just didn't outwardly express what he wanted. Yue Yue had learned that most times when he put his nose up seemingly disdaining whatever was in question his actual feelings were to the contrary.

Qiu Xing is similar, they are people who don't speak their true thoughts. Such a person, she didn't mind making real friends with because in some ways she knew how to handle him. Yue Yue stopped chuckling and took out her phone to study. There's still so much she didn't know and understand about this side of the world thus she always made time to study. She opened the last episode of her cartoon series where she left off, inserted her earphones and started watching.

Qiu Xing also briefly looked over before he also took out his cellphone and started to play a game. Town M wasn't far from the school and they drove into the Qiu mansion ten minutes later. Looking over Qiu Xing was expecting to see her huge exclamation over the house, he didn't normally take people home and yet the Qiu mansion was famous and a lot of people were surprised the first time they saw it. Mostly due to the size and of course it's design, it was very ostentatious as if wanting to let the people who saw it know that they had money. However even after they got off from the van and made their way into the house her reaction was normal, it was curious but nothing more.

Qiu Xing although didn't exactly like the house he was looking forward to showing off to her. So her lack of reaction disappointed him somewhat, it appeared she wasn't impressed. They made their way into the house and were of course greeted by the maid who had been standing there since they drove through the gate. They went to do whatever they wanted.

Lu Yin was already on his way to pick her up from the address she had sent him. He had just gotten off work and was seemingly tired. He had not been sleeping well ever since the conversation he had with Shen Yan at the hospital. The man hadn't contacted him ever since. Lu Yin will admit that he was very disappointed.

Had he not met Shen Yan he would've happily continued raising Yue Yue on his own. But they met and now things had gotten complicated. If they had not met then Lu Yin would have been fine living without him, now he wanted to go to him. But it seemed Shen Yan already has someone in his life. Lu Yin actually thought it made sense, it has been nine years already it would be surprising if Shen Yan didn't have someone. Therefore such a thing was within expectation and this was the main reason he wouldn't voluntarily invade Shen Yan's life.

Their relationship nine years ago ended on a very sour note which makes it really hard when seeing each other right now. But it was also because of how it ended that makes it hard to forget either. It was forcefully cut short at its sweetest and hottest moment. Thus the feelings although dormant are very much still there.

For him after seeing Shen Yan the dormant feelings reignited so forcefully and has forced him to have endless sleepless nights. The feelings also seem to have grown stronger. Considering how their relationship ended one would think that the feelings should fade but it appeared that the heart seemed to miss the other person instead, missing led to more feelings and the more a person tries to suppress them the fiercer they fight.

Lu Yin seriously felt very unlucky. Shen Yan has already moved on and found a new love while he was drowning in feelings that refused to go away. It made him want to go back to the Celestial realm and ask which God had he offended that wouldn't let him go? Was his luck sucked away by some God he didn't know so much so that his life seemed to be going contrary to what he actually wanted?

While driving many thoughts passed through his head. He arrived at the given address just after sunset. Although Town M wasn't that far from his suburb it was a bit far from his place of work. After driving to the front of the gate he took out his cellphone to call Yue Yue. She answered immediately, "Daddy I'm inside the neighbour's house, the Villa just before Qiu Xing's house."

"Okay, don't move I'll drive there now."

"Okay. See you now!"

After the call disconnected Lu Yin frowned. He somehow had a very bad feeling and he knew his instincts were not wrong. He reversed the car and started driving back to the villa he saw two minutes ago.

He parked the car right outside and just as he got out of the car he saw Yue Yue run over to hug him.

Looking at the people standing in front of the car his frown deepened.

What serious bad luck.
