The Fairy Fox: Shen Yan and Lu Yin

Chapter 9

Mean while as soon as Lu Yin heard Lu Bai's cry, a distinct cry to their fair fox clan he arrived to find Lu bai hurt on the ground. Xiao Rongrong was protecting Xiao Mo who was unconscious and on the ground as well. He helped Lu Bai to stand up and stood to face Lu Cang who was currently possessing the body of Gu Han. Lu Cang seemed to have come with his subordinate, a man dressed like a Taoist priest and holding a whisk which he seemed to use as a weapon. It seemed it was the Taoist priest who had hurt Lu Bai and Xiao Mo, facing them Shen Yan had no fear on his face and seeing what had happened he instead became more determined. He will definitely not let history repeat itself.

"You small foxes are still so weak, I tell you that today no one will leave this place. Not only will you give me the sacred stone you will also pay with your lives for what you did a thousand years ago. Kill them!" He shouted the command to his subordinate. Acting quickly the subordinate channelled his magic and charged towards the two. Lu Bai and Lu Yin simultaneously released their magic and knocked the Taoist back several steps. The Taoist fell down and vomited blood on the spot, he could no longer stand up without support.

Seeing this Lu Cang got very angry and decided to charge towards them, he knew that while he was still possessing this body they wouldn't dare to hurt him. Lu Bai hesitated and was hit by Lu Cang getting knocked several steps back. Lu Yin didn't hesitate and hit the body of Gu Han, forcing Lu Cang to take several steps back ending on one knee to support himself.

"Do you honestly believe that I wouldn't kill you in that body, for what you did a thousand years ago I will make you pay for it today. You being inside that body is perfect because it makes you weaker and easy to handle."

Hearing Lu Yin's words Lu Cang was indeed provoked. His subordinate decided to offer his body when realising the truth in Lu Yin's words, if his master took over his cultivated body their power would be enough to deal with these two. Lu Cang quickly realised the advantages this would give him, Lu Cang immediately changed bodies and took over the body of the Taoist priest. Their power increased exponentially, thus he utilised this power to attack Lu Yin.

Lu Yin was knocked back several steps even after he had tried to block the blow. He Looked at the situation that was reversed in  matter of minutes, Lu Bai was hurt since his magic was not enough, after all he had just recovered from his injury from a thousand years ago, Xioa Mo was unconscious and Xioa Rongrong couldn't help. The odds this time was definitely not in their favour. Lu Cang also realising the situation and started to laugh maniacally. He would finally achieve his goal, "I will bury you all here today just as I buried all your other fairy foxes a thousand years ago!"

He continued laughing. Lu Yin after listening to these words couldn't stop the memories from popping into his head, he recalled the mass slaughter of his kinsmen from a thousand years ago where he lost more than half of his clan. He immediately made a choice.

 He took out the jade that was given to him by the Elder, holding it on both hands he started to chant. Immediately afterwards a golden glow surrounded him and then it faded just as the jade broke into pieces and disappeared.

Lu Yin charged at the now vigilant Lu Cang who had seen the golden light and now harboured a suspicion in his mind. Lu Yin channelled all his magic into this attack. Lu cang also charged towards Lu Yin with the intent to kill. Both met at the same time, Lu Cang screamed and started burning right after the impact.

"How did you borrow the power of the Gods..you..you..." He died without any ashes left before he could finish his sentence. After seeing Lu Cang die Lu Yin immediately charged towards Lu Bai, he placed his hand on Lu Bai's forehead and using the golden light healed his injuries, immediately thereafter he quickly went to Xiao Mo and placed his hand on his forehead and healed him as well. Lu Bai also went towards Xiao Mo and held his hand as soon as he regained mobility, Xiao Mo started opening his eyes. Seeing the people surrounding him he stood up with Lu Bai's and Xiao Rongrong's support.

A golden light suddenly appeared in front of them, seeing that it was the Elder Lu Bai was excited. Lu Yin had stealthily approached a tree without anyone noticing and was currently supporting his back against the tree, just like a spent arrow he suddenly bent down and vomited a mouthful of blood. That's when everyone immediately turned and looked towards him. It's only now they realise that his pallor wasn't right, he looked too pale and he was becoming weaker right before their eyes.

The Elder made her way towards Lu Yin,"This child, I told you to summon me and yet you decided to borrow the power of the Goddess, are you crazy?" She scolded while holding his hand to check his pulse, she was shocked by what she found. She immediately used her power to try and heal him but both of them knew it was probably of no use. Borrowing the power of a deity came at a price, his cultivation wasn't high enough and his current body couldn't  handle such divine power, this power had now caused severe damage. It was a wonder he was still alive.

Lu Yin stood up straighter to reassure them that it was no big deal. "I'm fine no need to worry. Thank you Elder for your treatment, it was very timely. Lu Bai you need to take Xiao Mo to the hospital, I may have healed him but you need to make sure that everything is alright. Also there's Gu Han over there, he seems to be in a coma but I think he will probably wake up after a few days." Lu Yin spoke out these instructions calmly as if there was really nothing to worry about.

They were all reluctant to leave however what Lu Yin said made sense so with haste they started to make their way back to their campsite to pack their stuff. Seeing that Lu Yin was not coming with them they turned to look back, "Ge are you not coming with us?" asked Lu Bai.

"No, I still have a few things to discuss with the Elder."

"But your injury..."

"It's okay it's not a big deal. Now that everything is over I should go back to take care of my other responsibilities." Lu Yin left them no room to argue and quickly made them leave, both Lu Bai and Xiao Mo were supporting the unconscious body of Gu Han and didn't have the luxury to linger around and ask too many questions, they were weak themselves.

After they were out of sight Lu Yin leaned back on the tree to prevent himself from collapsing. The Elder standing to the side looked at him with sad eyes, "You know that I can't do anything to help you with this, how could you be so reckless. I gave you that jade to summon me and not to borrow the power of the Gods."

"I know, but I also know that calling you out to this realm will take a toll on you, we need someone to always be strong to protect our fairy fox clan, the Elder cannot be hurt."

Looking at this stubborn child the Elder shook her head, "The power you temporarily borrowed has damaged your mortal body, you can't keep this appearance for now. only after you have cultivated for a few years can you take this mortal appearance again."

"I know. I was always ready for the consequences, Elder I will have to trouble you to take me with you back home. I don't have enough power to do anything right now."

The Elder although reluctant still took away Lu Yin with her. She had thought since Lu Yin is carrying a mortals child now he would want to stay in this mortal realm with the father of this child, however it appeared not to be case. Judging by how this child handled matters it seemed he had been planning this for a very long time. The Elder could only sigh.
