The Fairy Fox: Shen Yan and Lu Yin

Chapter 8

Arriving at the camping site, they showed their tickets to the gate man and then they proceeded to make their way to go find a camping spot. This was a closed off area thus people needed to buy tickets to do anything inside, at this time of the year though it was quite deserted. They walked deeper into the woods until they found the perfect spot. They were going to camp here tonight and then tomorrow make their way to their assigned cottages on the other side. It was Xiao Rongrong's idea to do this type of camping first before making full use of the advantages of the tickets.

They started pitching their tents when they realised that they had left something in the car. Lu Bai and Xiao Mo continued pitching their tent as if it didn't concern them while Xiao Rongrong  looked at Lu Yin and Shen Yan, "You can't expect me to go get it right?" She asked them. Shen Yan volunteered to go back to the car.

"Lu Yin you should go with him, he can't walk all the way back to the car alone." Xiao Rongrong tried to make her tone sound as if she was making normal conversation. Lu Yin sighed but decided to go with Shen Yan, he was too lazy to argue the issue and expose their poorly disguised setups. Seeing the two people disappear the people left started smiling. Xiao Mo shook his head, "Your efforts are really wasted. I don't think those two are going to reconcile any time soon."

"You may not see it, but I can see that Shen Yan has finally put down his worries. All he needs is an opportunity to have a good conversation with Lu Yin and then a heavy make out session...aaah I can already see it!" Xiao Rongrong exclaimed looking very excited. Xiao Mo just rolled his eyes and decided to ignore her.

The walk was a silent one, both of them were caught up in their own thoughts. They kept on walking until Shen Yan mastered the courage to start speaking. However, seeing that Shen Yan was about to speak, Lu Yin cut him off immediately.

"If there's anything you want to say there's really no need. I've already erased what happened between us and you shouldn't feel burdened by such trivial matters." Shen Yan suddenly stopped and looked at Lu Yin, "Trivial matters? I don't think what happened between us is a trivial matter. Lu Yin I.."

He was interrupted before he could finish, "From now on you and I will not have that sort of relationship, we can be friends but nothing more." Lu Yin declared coldly. These past two days he has been thinking really hard about his next steps and he realised his dislike of the mortal realm  hadn't changed, after Lu Cang is eliminated he planned to go back to the fairy fox dimension. Coming to this place if it was not because he wanted to protect Lu Bai he wouldn't bother and there's nothing that could be said to change his mind.

Shen Yan wanted to argue and clarify his position when he saw Lu Yin close his eyes and then suddenly disappear from where he was standing. Judging from these actions Shen Yan concluded that the trouble they were expecting had come to find them, he turned around and started running back to the place where he had left the three, the campsite they had chosen. It was not far yet it was also not close, running back he now only realised just how far he and Lu Yin had walked in silence.

When Shen Yan arrived to where they were supposed to be camping for the night he only found the nearly finished pitched tents and scattered bags on the ground, he didn't know where everyone had gone to nor how to find them. Feeling very frustrated he decided to follow the footprints that were barely visible on the ground.
