Someone opened the shower curtain and pulled me out all of sudden. It was Lu Yin. He proceeded to wrap a towel around me and dragged me out of the shower.

"Are you crazy?! The water is scalding hot, you're lucky you don't have any burns on you! How long have you been in there? Do you know that staying in such high temperature environment is not good for a mortal?" Lu Yin proceeded to shout, I couldn't help but smile and look at him.

"I missed you." The words slipped out of my mouth before I was even aware of what I was saying. This surprised both of us. Then Lu Yin noticing that he was touching me and acting all concerned about me immediately removed his hands and took two steps back to put distance between us. I could see him building his walls again, the drowsiness was clearing from my head. I didn't even realise how long I was in the shower under that hot spray of water, I was also wrapped only in a towel thanks to Lu Yin.

"I knocked a few times and didn't get a response; I could hear the water running so I thought...anyway sorry for coming unannounced. You had left your sports bag at the court today, one of your friends, I don't remember his name gave it to me to give to you since you once mentioned we lived together apparently?" Lu Yin raised a brow and looked at me questioningly.

"Wait I'll put some clothes on and then we can talk." I was turning around to make my way to the bedroom when I stopped suddenly. A voice stopped me before I could put action to my words now.

"There's no need, I have already done what I came to do. I also wanted to return this key back to you." Lu Yin stretched the hand that held the key to me, but then he quickly changed his mind and simply put them on top of the table by the kitchen. He started making his way to the door when he felt a hand hold his arm.

"I don't regret it." Lu Yin froze after those words. "Even after everything, I don't regret it." Lu Yin dared not turn around, he didn't want to.

"Okay good, it's good that you don't regret it." He then shook his arm out of my hand and walked out of the apartment. He walked a few steps down and then stopped and leaned against the wall. He hated the mortal realm, every time he comes down something bad happens. The first time he came down with Lu Bai, Lu Bai fell in love with a mortal which started a whole new chain reaction of events that are still on going. The second time he came down, Lu Bai nearly died, and his mortal died protecting Lu Bai, and now the third time he fell in love with a mortal who could not accept his true form. Yes, he will admit it only to himself, he is in love Shen Yan.

He really should have known better, mortals have the ficklest affection known in any realm. Even demons are far more loyal than mortals. A lot of them are easily swayed. He knew this and he tried to avoid it, in the end he gave in and as expected the result was terrible. Worse in his case because of his current condition, I don't want to think about it he told himself. Lu Yin collected himself, there's a war to be won everything else can wait. He then proceeded to make his way to the apartment downstairs.

Left in the living room all alone Shen Yan stood frozen for a while until he finally collected himself and made his way to the bedroom to change. His phone beeped with an incoming message, it was from Lu Yin. It was short and curt, simply asking him to come to the apartment below for a meeting. There was no need to reply. He took his phone with him to his room and he quickly changed into a black tracksuit pants and a long sleeve white t-shirt. Very simple and comfortable clothes. He's been avoiding spending a lot of time in his bedroom lately, he couldn't help but think of the night he and Lu Yin made love when in here. A week ago, those memories use to bring him pleasure and happiness, but now they only bring him pain and emptiness. He picked up his phone again along with his wallet, keys to the car and to the apartment and then proceeded to quickly exit the bedroom. He then made his way out of the apartment to the one below.

When Shen Yan reached the door of the apartment he knocked. The door opened immediately and Xiao Rongrong stood in front him looking very cheerful.

"Please come in, everyone is in the sitting room." He made his way inside, Xiao Rongrong following closely behind him. Still keeping her cheerful mood she gestured with her hands for him to find a seat then she dashed to the kitchen while yelling out, "The food will be ready in a few." And then she was out of site.

Walking in he found Xiao Mo sitting on the slightly bigger couch fiddling with his phone. Lu Yin was sitting on a one-sitter couch looking his usual gloomy self. I made my way to where Xiao Mo was sitting and sat next him, leaving space for Lu Bai to sit between us. Those two were always glued to each other. As soon as I sat down Xiao Mo looked up from his phone and nodded his head to me. Lu Bai came from the kitchen carrying a bowl of something and Xiao Rongrong also followed closely behind him.

"Momo come help us carry the food out so we'll be quicker, I'm sure everyone is starving!" Not wanting to seem ungrateful Xiao Mo stood up and helped carry the food to the small sized table in the middle, bowls were laid out and Xiao Rongrong asked everyone to dig in.

"Food is ready, you may now begin to help yourselves!" Lu Bai made his way together with Xiao Mo to sit alongside him on the couch. He raised his chop sticks and finally said his greetings now that everyone was here.

"Hi guys."

Everyone nodded.

"For the upcoming war..." Lu Yin was interrupted by Xiao Rongrong before he could proceed.

"We will talk about all of that after the meal. Now it's family time. You guys will not believe what happened today..." she started very excited. Xiao Rongrong and Xiao Mo were twins but you really couldn't tell. They were truly opposites in both looks and character. Xiao Rongrong had a very positive and cheerful personality while Xiao Mo was more reserved and antisocial. When people met the two they naturally assumed that Xiao Rongrong was older than Xiao Mo by a few years because of her maturity and her bossiness.

"I received a letter from the boy I started having a crush on when you, Shen Yan, broke my heart, he wants us to meet after university tomorrow at the coffee shop beside the university's entrance for a date!" she exclaimed excitedly.

"For someone who claims I broke her heart you moved on quickly enough", Shen Yan couldn't help pointing that out.

"You did break my heart!"

Chuckling a bit Lu Bai joined in, "Jie did have a crush on you."

"Of course, only my Lu Bai is always on my side, you're definitely the best! You better not do anything to mess this up!" She mock angrily pointed to Xiao Mo who just shook his shoulders. He was used to his sister's antics and her bias to Lu Bai. A person who didn't know better would think that Lu Bai was her biological brother instead of me. As such he made it a point to oppose them which he couldn't help saying, "How could he have broken your heart when he didn't even know of your existence in the first place?"

"You?!" Xiao Rongrong huffed and continued to eat ignoring her brother. Xiao Mo was not finished as he pinched Lu Bai's arm and shoved a piece of chicken in his mouth.

"And you, stop encouraging her." Lu Bai just chuckled and made a mock sound of pain while one sidedly winking at Xiao Rongrong. He enjoyed teasing Xiao Mo and Xiao Mo never disappointed to react. He thought It was cute.

The meal proceeded with an almost comfortable silence. Lu Yin ate a bit even though he really didn't feel like it. He absolutely had no appetite even for his favourite chicken. Shen Yan also participated in this atmosphere so as not to ruin anything and ate a bit as well. As soon as the meal was finished Lu Bai stood up to clear the plates. Everyone else just sat down lazily rubbing their stomachs to help with digestion.
