A bad news

Courtney's POV:
Just another Friday here at the office. Writing scripts with our head writer, Monica. It was already 12:00 am, so we decided to grab some lunch. Monica and I went to this Chinese restaurant. After we ate, we immediately went back to the office. On our way back, I got a call.
"Hello?" I said to the caller
"Hello, am I speaking to Ms. Courtney Miller?" The caller asked
"Yes, this is Courtney Miller," I replied
"This is doctor Glassman. Your test results came back... And we found out that you have cancer cells in your body. We suggest that you came by for a check-up," He said
"Okay, thank you, doctor," I said as I held back my tears. I hanged up the call and processed everything Doctor Glassman said. I zoned out.
"Courtney! Hey, Courtney!" Monica snaps her finger on my face.
"Uh, w-what?" I asked in confusion
"We're here. Get out of the car," she said
"Oh, I'm sorry," I said
"It's okay. But, uh, what's up? Why did you zone out all of a sudden?" She asked
"I-I..." I said as tears filled my eyes
"You're what?"
"I found out that I have cancer cells in my body," I said as I finally cried.
She pulled me into a warm hug.
"You'll get through this, Courtney," she said
"Thanks, Monica," I said
I wiped my tears as we walked into the building. I walked into the main room. The whole squad was there. I smiled and pretended that everything is normal. I sat on the couch. A little while later, someone tapped my shoulder, it was Shayne Topp, who came back from his bathroom break.
'Yeah, what's up?" I asked
"Come with me," he said
He walks towards the door, I followed him, he opened the door and hold it for me.
He walks towards the game room and opens the door, we got inside, then he closes the door.
"What's wrong?" He asked
Wow very straight forward
"There is nothing wrong," I replied
"Eyes don't lie, chico," he said
"How did you know that there's something wrong with me, what are you a psychic?" I asked
"No, but I know you very well," he said
"So come on, just tell me," he added
"Okay. I just found out that there are cancer cells in my body," I started crying, again.
He hugged me. After that, we sat on the couch.
"What am I going to do now?" I asked
"Go to the doctor and get yourself check. And also, tell your family." He said. He was right. I took my out and texted Kari everything. After I sent the message to Kari, I looked at Shayne, who looked very proud of me for doing that.
"I'm gonna go to the doctor with Kari or maybe somebody else in the family on Sunday," I said to him.
"That's my girl," he said
Oh my god! Did he just call me 'his girl'? Courtney don't blush! Courtney don't blush! Keep it steady heart. Go easy on me.
I smiled at him.
"Come on, let's go back," I said
He followed me back to the main room. We acted as if nothing was wrong with me. No one brought up any sort of conversation, the room was very silent.
Shayne was on his phone, smiling. He probably got a sweet message from his girlfriend.
"Hey Courtney, " he said as he turned to me, he shows me his phone,
"I saw an oncologist near you, her name is Dr. Leanne Mendes, why don't you come by at her clinic," he said in a very silent voice so that only the two of us can hear.
"Wow, thanks, Shayne, I'll go on Sunday," I said
*Ding!*
I got a message from Kari

Kari❤:
Are you okay? Do you want me to come with you to the doctor? Do you want me to come over to your place this weekend?

Courtney👽:
Yes, I'm fine. And yes, but only if you're free because I don't want to disturb you.

Yeah, I'm free, I'll see you tomorrow. Love you,💗

Courtney👽:
Thanks, Kari, love you, see you tomorrow.😘

"Who was that?" Shayne asked
"Kari, she said that she would come over tomorrow," I replied
"So, since we don't need to shoot anything today, and we finished all of the scriptwriting, I guess you guys should go home," Ian said
The others started to get their bag and leave, I did the same thing. I put my laptop inside my bag. I was about to leave the office, but I realized that I need to tell Ian about my situation, he's my boss, he needs to know.
"Hey Ian," I said
"Hey, Courtney, what's up?" He said
"I need to tell you something really important," I said
"What? That you're jealous of Shayne's girlfriend?" He asked very seriously
"Heck no! It's just that I have a health scare, I went to the hospital and have my monthly monitor last week, then the results came back earlier today, they found out that I have cancer cells in my body..." I said
He hugged me and said
"I'm here for you, Court," he said
"I know," I said
"Tell me if you need anything," he said
"I will. Thank you, Ian," I said
"No problem," he said
And with that, I went out and went home.
Ian is such a great boss. I can't believe that he asked me if I was jealous of Erica like was he being serious or am I being obvious? I don't hate Erica, maybe I got a little jealous of her because she's the girlfriend of my long time crush. But I'm happy for them, I really am. And I hope that she won't break Shayne's heart, I wish she wouldn't hurt him.
