jisung put his plate down on the table, tripping on seungmin's leg and almost fell. hyunjin caught him but then followed jisung's eyes to spot what he was distracted by.
of course, it was sohye. he watched her eat her vegan meal while the girl scrolled on her phone at a table with only her.
"i've never met someone so in love, it's gross." felix shuddered.
"did you forget about changbin and jisu?" hyunjin asked, as the table laughed, even jisung popped out of his fantasy to laugh at it.
changbin was a former student who graduated the same time as chan and minho. they're all still best friends, but of course only these five still attend the school.
changbin and jisu were both on their senior year and the two fell in love quickly. after about two months their parents told them they were second cousins and while still in love, the thought was too disturbing for both of them. the relationship ended and jisu moved to malaysia quickly after graduation to avoid the awkwardness.
the boys still tease him about it today.
"should we make sure you and sohye aren't related?" seungmin offered, and jisung rolled his eyes.
"we aren't, don't manifest it." jisung growled, throwing a red bean at him.
seungmin gasped, throwing the red bean back. "do you want detention, han jisung?"
"do you want detention, han jisung?" jisung mocked, the boys laughing.
meanwhile, jisung looked up and made eye contact with sohye. he widened his eyes and looked away immediately, not wanting her to think that he was staring. it'd be embarrassing.
what was even worse, was that sohye smiled at him and instead of smiling back he pretended he didn't see her. absolutely awkward.
"by the way, under the moon won." seungmin told the other boys, felix and jeongin playing a game on their phones as hyunjin was too interested in his food, jisung obviously still focused on his crush. "i love when my friends listen to me."
"crybaby." hyunjin laughed, giving seungmin a chicken nugget to make up for the silence they gave him.
"i'm not playing among us with you, leave me alone." jeongin whined, hitting felix. the two were clearly texting.
seungmin chuckled, ignoring the rule that students aren't supposed to use their phones during school hours. it was lunch, there was really no harm.
