sohye sat in her car after school, hiding out while the others decorated for prom. of course she would go back in to decorate, but she liked the peace and quiet. after all, seungmin allowed her to take a break since she would be staying later than everybody else to begin to stencil the mural on the backdrop.
jisung offered countless times to stay but the girl told him she preferred to work alone. it was true, she hated when people saw her work. but still, she also wanted to think of a way to break up with jisung and she couldn't do that with him there.
a knock on her window caught her by surprise, turning to her passenger side and unlocking the door. the small freckled blond got into her car, smiling on the other side. "it's cold in here."
"uh-huh..." sohye nodded, awkwardly lowering the music to better understand the situation that suddenly sprang out. "did you get bored of prom decorating?"
"oh, we're about to leave but seungmin needed his logging binder from his car so i came get it." felix explained, returning the smile.
for some reason, he was not feeling the awkwardness that she was. sohye looked down at felix's small hands holding a black binder, "cool, you got it."
"oh! he told me to come get you." felix quickly looked over at her, sohye nodding. suddenly it was clicking. "you have the room all to yourself. i mean, seungmin's gonna be here but just at the school... not in the actual multi-purpose room."
walking to the inside of the building, sohye listened to felix intently. what started off as warnings about seungmin ended in felix oversharing about his past pets that somehow all managed to get run-over.
the multi purpose room was somewhat empty, no sign of her boyfriend or his friend's ever being there. just jiyoon and gowon walking towards her with a concerned look on their faces, "we texted you like eight thousand times!"
"i was too busy studying, im sorry!" sohye apologized, not feeling the need to include that the subject she was studying wasn't school, but spells.
the girls quickly rolled their eyes, tearing her from felix as they walked away. "how are your studies?"
"interesting!" sohye confidently responded, her smile speaking for itself. gowon laughed, but was hit by jiyoon.
"it's not funny, sohye you need to graduate with us or you'll be left behind! not only is it sad... it's embarrassing— and before you try to defend yourself, im the class secretary. i've seen your grades." she began to lecture sohye, the blue haired one scoffing.
