why are we going so fucking fast?

also sorry for not updating LMFAO I forgot abt this and u guys r gonna hate me for this chapter BUT it gets better I promise.

Peter and I have been dating for around a month, crazy right? Everyone said I moved on too fast and that It's weird how fast Peter and I got together but we don't argue that much and he just really understands me.

"Isn't the sky just so pretty?" I said, looking out at the car window, staring at the sunset

"Just like you" he replied, looking at me, smiling. I could tell something was bothering him though.

"What's bothering you?"

"Nothing, I just need gas and the only gas station near us is the DX"

"oh" I thought about soda. god, it's been so long since I talked to him.

"Your ex works there right?"

I sighed "Yeah, just give me the money and ill pay, I also wanna buy Pepsi or something while we're there, is that ok?"

"Yeah it's alright," He said and we pulled into the DX. No one was working at the pumps so I guess everyone is inside at the register. Im hoping Soda and or Steve aren't here because it'll be awkward if it is.

Just saying I literally don't know how gas stations work LMAO or how to pay for gas so uhh bare with me I kinda just guessed.

Peter pumped the gas and gave me the money, I went inside and well I saw Soda and Steve working register, laughing about god knows what. When they heard the door chime they turned their heads and gave me weird looks.

I grabbed Pepsi and put it on the counter. 

Steve looked at me "For the gas too?"

"Uh" I paused for a second "yeah"

"That'll be $1.50, do you want a bag?"

"Sure"

I put the money on the table and he handed me the bag and I turned to leave.

"Cmon, no hi or anything?" Soda said

I turned back, facing him and sighed. 

"Hi, Soda."

"You look... different"

"Do I?" I asked. That's what everyone's been saying lately, I don't know why.

"It's cause she's a soc man" Steve whispered to Soda, well not really whispered cause I can hear him.

Ok, maybe I do know why.

"Is that all you see me as? Some girl who used to be a greaser but is now a soc?"

They stayed silent.

"Because you guys know that you too, would also become a soc if you had the chance"

"Not if that means leaving our friends behind," Steve said

"That's literally not what happened but ok," I said, rolling my eyes.

"Can you guys stop fig-" Soda said but was cut off by the sound of the door chiming, it was Peter.

"What's taking you so long?" He asked and put his hand around my waist.

"Its nothing, lets go"

We walked off and went into the car.

Peter started the car and asked, "Were they bothering you?"

"Look it doesn't matter"

"It does matter, I don't need some greasers giving you shit"

"They're more than greasers alright? I basically grew up with them."

"Yeah you grew up with them and they finally see you for months and they argue with you, what great friends"

I couldn't argue with that so I stayed silent. He dropped me off at my house and when I got inside I realized I still had the bag from the DX, I went to throw it out but I realized there was a paper, is it a receipt? I pulled it out and it had a phone number... Soda? 

I sat at the phone, debating if I should call or not, after a while, I finally got the courage to. What's the worst that can happen?

I waited for someone to answer.

"Hello, who is this?" It sounds like ponyboy

"Uh hi... Kimberly" I said nervously

"KIM?!" Ponyboy yelled my poor ears.

"Haha yeah can you put Soda on the phone?" I asked.

"Yeah hold on" less than a minute later

"Little lady?"

I giggled "Yeah that's me"

"I didn't think you'd actually call"

"Well I didn't think you'd actually wanna talk to me again"

"Man I'm sorry for Steve, I don't know why he overreacted"

"No, I'm sorry for leaving you and the gang for some guy I had just met"

I heard Lisa walk into the room she gave me a weird look and whispered "Is that Soda?"

"Yeah"

"Can I say hi?"

"Really Lisa?"

"Yes really, I've been wanting you guys to get back together!"

"We arent back togeth-"

She grabbed the phone and talked to Soda for a few minutes. She finally handed me back the phone and left my room.

"Sorry about that"

"It's fine" Soda replied and laughed. Oh, how I missed that laugh

"Can we uh.. like hangout or something. I missed you"

"I missed you too, we can go on a drive or something"

"Yes! I haven't gone on a drive in like forever." I replied
