After I brought Jaxon home I wasn't able to write back as often as I had before but I still wrote him. As Jaxon became mobile I was even more busy, making sure he didn't get into things he shouldn't mess with.
When I started back at work the neighbor downstairs would watch him and I would pick him after I got home and changed. When Jaxon was 10 months old he started walking, he wasn't very good at it but it made me happy to see him try. He would hold onto furniture and pull himself along, sometimes he would attempt to walk alone but would always end up falling down; he was never hurt when he fell though, he would just keep trying. He was an extremely determined little boy, he never gave up on anything he tried.
-3rd person POV-
On the night of September 8th 2007, Evonne got home from her job, as she was changing the buildings fire alarms began blaring. Evonne didn't know where the fire was so she quickly finished changing, however once she reached the apartment door she found she couldn't get it opened.
The news of the building fire was announced the next morning, the fire had been a result of a faulty air conditioning unit on the roof above Evonne's penthouse. There was one casualty, Evonne Couture. Evonne's best friend, Julia, took in Jaxon as his temporary guardian since his grandparents either couldn't be reached or lived in France and since his father would be in prison for 3 more years he had to be taken in by someone until Neal Caffrey's time in jail was up.
-Julia's POV-
Once I got home from the funeral with Jaxon I set him on the floor, I watched him crawl off, some of his dark brown hair falling into his face, it had been almost a week and I still hadn't gotten many things for him, I didn't know anything about children or their needs and I knew that a child with my line of work didn't mix which is why Evonne quit it when she discovered that she was pregnant.
As the months went by, I began to learn how to raise a kid, it wasn't easy though, with how fast Jaxon was growing I had to buy him a whole new wardrobe every few months. Right after he started walking he also started running, meaning it was hard to keep him out of things and to keep an eye on him. Once he started talking I really had to watch him, he knew about everything I was doing so I couldn't risk him accidentally letting anything slip to the wrong person.
