Once agent Siegel was murdered everything seemed to go back to normal, Peter became my handler again and he acted as if nothing had changed; after all he may be able to throw out my deal at any time but he can't get rid of everything we've been through that built our friendship.

It was early morning in late July when Jaxon woke me up telling me he threw up, "maybe you just ate something bad yesterday" I assured him.

"But the diarrhea was yesterday"

"What? When did that happen?"

"Morning"

I nodded, "that's why you wouldn't eat breakfast?"

"My stomach felt funny"

"How?"

"Like I was gonna throw up"

"But you ate lunch and dinner didn't you?"

"Yeah" I nodded, sitting up and swinging my legs over the side of the bed and held my hand against his forehead which was radiating heat, "you definitely have something. Come on" I said as I gently picked him up, causing him to groan in pain, "does your stomach physically hurt?" He nodded, "what's the pain like?" I questioned as I sat him up on the edge of the bathroom sink, he shrugged, "do you know how long it's hurt?"

"No" he responded, speaking quietly like he should know the answer.

"Alright bud, let's just take your temperature, just tell me if the pain feels worse, alright?" He nodded as I dug out the thermometer. "Oh, you're definitely sick" I said more as a thought than an actual statement, I said it so quietly he didn't seem to notice. I set the thermometer on the opposite side of the sink before picking him up, he made a noise of pain once again, "shh, you're okay. Do you think you can sleep again? It's not very cool out tonight but if it helps I'll open your window" I asked as I set him on his bed and went to the window.

"I can't" he whined.

I nodded, "k, well...." I looked at him, he looked sad and was clearly not feeling good, I hadn't gotten much sleep and it was still 5 hours before I would usually get up, but I couldn't leave him like this, "I'll stay here, I'm going to get a book then I'll be in" I stated before leaving for a minute, he moved closer to the wall before and was now laying against it, "what are you doing?" I smiled.

"It's nice and cold" he smiled.

"Okay, I'll be right here" I said as I sat on the edge of his bed. It took a few hours but he did end up falling asleep again, it was still early but I decided to get ready, at this point I wasn't going to sleep anymore tonight. I knew Mozzie was supposed to watch him today since June wouldn't be able to, but considering he was now sick I knew Moz probably would want to avoid coming over so I called him to see, "hey, Moz" I said when he answered, "so, Jaxon's sick, are you still okay with taking care of him today?"

"How sick is he?"

"Throwing up,fever"

"I'm afraid I can't Neal"

"Come on, it's not that bad"

"That could be anything"

"I really need someone to watch him Moz"

"I'm sorry Neal, I can't"

"Alright" I sighed before we ended the call. I knew Diana could watch him but she had a newborn so even if she would want to I wasn't going to plan on letting him go over there while sick, it was about seven in the morning by now, I was sure the Burke's would be awake so I called Elizabeth, "Hi, Neal" she answered, happily.

"Hey, would you be able to watch Jaxon today? He's sick so Mozzie is refusing and June's busy today"

"Well I have to do some work this morning but this afternoon I can finish up anything at home. Do you have anyone to watch him until then?"
