"Why couldn't Satchy come with?" Jaxon was asking Peter a bunch of questions since he arrived to stay here. It had been a few weeks since he met Satchmo but he was still obsessed with him.

"He's with Elizabeth" Peter informed him as he sat down on the couch.

"Why not wit you?"

"Jaxon, it's time for bed, I think Peter wants to sleep too" I said before Peter could respond. Jaxon ran over and climbed into my bed. "Here tonight?"

I nodded in response, "story" he shouted as he climbed under the covers.

"Alright, What do you want?" I asked as I sat on the bed next to him.

"Mine" he grinned as he looked up at me.

I smiled, "okay" I looked over at Peter, I knew he would hear this but it wasn't a bad thing necessarily. "There was a young man and woman who thought they could rule the world by playing by their own rules. They lived great lives of risk and riches; they had everything they wanted including friends and eventually, eachother. Though their time together was short lived they cared for one another while together. The problem was that the police in most countries wanted to catch them. They had to run away from France together back to New York City where they remained friends. The mans run came to an end once the nice FBI agent, who was after him, finally caught him. The woman had to remain in hiding with her riches to raise their son. Until one night when a disaster happened, their little boy wasn't in the apartment when it happened but there was a fire which took the woman away from her son. The boy was left alone; he would either need to live with family or one of his parents friends for the next three years. The problem with his family is they couldn't find any in the country. If they couldn't find anyone at all the little boy would end up in the states care until his fathers four year sentence was up but luckily his mothers best friend came forwards to look after him. The man and father did almost the rest of his time in prison but he escaped, which earned him another four years. He would have been away until his son was 7 if it weren't for the great Peter Burke who saved him by giving him a chance to help the FBI and prove he wasn't how bad they all thought he was. Peter became his best friend, and the man got his son. From the moment he learned he would have a kid he made a promise he would do anything for them and the moment his kid actually arrived in his life he knew he had to protect him no matter what and he would do anything to keep him in his life. He wanted to be a great father to that little man and still does. And I will do whatever I need to to keep you here and safe." By the time I finished the story Jaxon was asleep against me.

"So, you have a story about your life and his mom that you tell him?" I looked over at Peter as he asked that with a slight smile on his face.

"It's his favorite. He knows it's me and his mom but he doesn't understand it all"

"What did happen with you and his mom?"

"I told you, we met in France and had to run back here together"

"But that wasn't the whole story"

I sighed, "fine" I slowly got up, gently setting Jaxon down on the bed all the way, I then went outside, Peter followed me. I sat down in a chair and he sat across from me, "Evonne was born and raised in southern France, when she was 16 she started scamming people and that turned into bigger cons. When I met her she brought me in on a plan of hers. There was a painting that was being sent into a museum, she had gotten the entire shipping plan. I spent days making a forgery of the DeLacroix painting, then when it was time we broke into where the real one was stored and replaced the two. By the night of the heist we were already together, we knew it wouldn't last in New York and once we got back she disappeared for a while. By the time she was back in the city again I was in prison, I only knew she was back because of the address on the letter she sent."
