dakota's p.o.v
"good morning." i say as i take a seat in the passenger seat of lucy's car. i look over at her when i notice she didn't say anything back.
"oh just come here." she puts her hand on the back of my neck and pushes me towards her, connecting our lips. i put my hand on her cheek as i kiss back, blushing hardcore. "morning." she smiles.
"how was your night?" i ask sweetly, putting my hands on my lap. she looks down at my hands.
"i went to sleep as fast as i could so seeing you would come faster." she says flicking her finger under my chin. i blush, putting on the radio slightly.
"you look nice." i tell her, getting a cute smile back as she scrunched up her nose. she starts driving us to school.
"thanks, i try. sort of." she says. i laugh, enjoying the little ride to school. it's been really peaceful ever since lucy kissed me in the lunch cafeteria. she really changes everything for me.
when we arrive to school, she puts her hand on top of mine before i get out of the car to catch my attention. it works. "you look even nicer today by the way. i'm not gonna be able to keep my eyes off of you." she says her lips forming a small smirk. i stare at her, my face turning beat red as my insides go crazy.
"stop it." i whine, getting out of the car. she comes over to me and intertwines our hands. i look down at them and smile.
"i will never stop. let's go in." she says taking lead. i catch up so i'm not behind her, i'm beside her. we walk in through the doors and she brings me to my locker first like usual. how sweet.
when i say almost the whole hallway stopped what they were doing and stared, i wasn't lying. i just knew my whole face turned bright red as all eyes were on us. she squeezed my hand, telling me it was okay as we approached my locker. she stood beside me as i opened it, greeting kenzie beside me. lucy says hello to her as well.
as i'm doing my thing quickly, taking books out of my locker, i see nathan in the corner of my eye. he's coming over. he's staring right at lucy. i start to get nervous, my eyes going back in front of me.
"lucy." his manly voice is so deep, speaking like he's angry. i look over again and see lucy has her arms crossed.
"what business do you have saying my beautiful name?" she asks and i almost laugh, seeing how confident she looks. he looks at her like he's about to flip out.
"what-what are you doing?" he asks. "what, you're gay now all of a sudden?" he shakes his head in disbelief. lucy simply a nods her head.
"yup." she says popping the 'p' at the end. "guess who made that choice easy for me? oh! ill give you a hint, it wasn't just dakota." she says and i giggle, seeing his eyes glance at me. lucy moves her head in front of me, forcing nate to look at her again.
"i can't believe you just went to her like that. she's always been in love with you and you were never fond of her." he says arguing back.
"don't you dare say that, i didn't know her. now i do and i'm glad because she makes me happier than you ever did." she fires back, getting closer to him. his eyes widen and as he gets close to her face, looking raged.
"you've become even worse than before." he says. she moves back, but he just gets closer. her back is against the lockers.
"hey." i say pulling lucy's waist towards me and standing in between them. i look up at nate and give him a nasty look. i'm not scared of him anymore. this is ridiculous. "don't talk to her like that." i tell him.
he looks down at me, smirking lightly. "oh, and what are you going to do?" he asks bending down and putting his hands on his knees so he's level with me.
