dakota's p.o.v

"it's lovely to meet you. i'm dakota." i smile at the handsome boy in front of me. wow, kenzie sure did pick a good one. hunter is a god.

"you as well, i couldn't wait to meet you." he smiles back, grabbing ahold of kenzie's hand. "kenzie talks so much about you."

"oh she better, if it weren't for you i'd think she's in love with me." i say, making kenzie burst out in laughter. i see hunter admire her, and then her cheeks turn red.

we all met at the park. the same park lucy and i had our date. where we talked, ate snacks, made out..

"earth to dakota?" i snap back into reality as i notice kenzie waving her hand in my face. "you there?" she chuckles.

"yeah, i'm sorry." i shake my head and apologize, giving them both a sweet smile. "why don't you tell me about you, hunter?" i ask as we sit on a blanket on the grass. kenzie is so cliché, just like me.

"well.." he starts. "i have two older brothers, i play the guitar a bit, and i play baseball." he says sounding proud. i nod.

"that's awesome!" i comment, noticing the way kenzie is starting at him as he looks at me. we are sitting across from each other. "kenzie?" i hit her knee.

"huh? what?" she jumps and i laugh, pointing at her as i shake my head at her.

"you're staring at him like it's your last day on earth." i smirk, seeing hunters face turn red this time. he turns to kenzie and pouts playfully.

"i'm making you blushhh." she smiles, leaning in to kiss him. i watch them, raising an eyebrow.

"you always do." he whines, feeling his cheeks with his palms. i giggle, seeing how cute they are. "dakota,  tell me about you!" he says happily.

"woah there, don't be hitting on my best friend now. she doesn't like your kind anyway." kenzie says obviously joking but tried to act mad. hunter laughs, squeezing her hand from what i can notice.

"shut up." i scoff playfully at her and see her turn to me. she sticks her tongue out and relaxed, watching her boyfriend again.

"there isn't much to know about me, really. i've known kenzie since like forever. as you know i'm lesbian and uhh..i like romance movies." i almost cringe at myself as the things i say to him. he nods, listening to me.

"that's enough for me. you sound super cool." he smiles and i can't believe how nice he is. i've never met such a sweet boy. considering the boys in my school suck ass.

"why thank you." i say.

"she so is. and she's got a super hot girlfriend. i'm not no lesbian but my bestie got herself a good one." kenzie nods proudly, hitting my knee a few times. i grab her hand and throw it back at her as my face turns red.

"aww i'm happy for you." hunter says smiling like he had been this whole time. "what's her name?"

"you never told him i had a girlfriend?" i ask kenzie, raising my eyebrows. she shakes her head.

"nope, it was never brought up." she laughs. i turn back to hunter.

"her name is lucy. she's a sweetheart really." i nod, seeing him chew on his bottom lip.

"lucy? what's her last name?" he asks just looking curious. "i know a lucy."

"davis." i say and his jaw drops. he furrows his eyebrows and almost lets out a laugh.

"lucy davis is lesbian?" he asks looking majority shocked. "i know her. she's used to be seen a lot with um..n-nathan, is it?"

"yes and yes, i know. he's a real doughebag. she dumped him after he cheated and then she told me she liked me after we got to know each other more." i nod, seeing his shocked expression disappear.
