Chapter Six

Hi everyone! I was hoping to post sooner but a lots been happening with work and my health atm, I'm really sick and had to have a COVID-19 test, so I apologise if I'm not updating as often as usual

Luke's POV:

I had just came back from the bathroom, it was really weird. Meredith was in their stocking up condoms and she somehow forced me to have a conversation with her,  but strangely she was really nice to me. I awkwardly apologised for arguing with her last night and for Calum throwing up on her, once again not entirely sure how that happened. She told me she was sorry for everything and she hopes we can be friends....which is rather unlikely. Civil yes, but I refuse to be friends with Meredith. Also I apparently spat on her went I said "PFFFT" last night, which I apologised for, then said I had to go.

I walked outside back to the table to see some super awkward tension between everyone. What is going on? I sat down next to Calum and his hand was a little sweaty, I was more concerned than grossed out but I was still very confused. "Hey guys, sorry I took so long. What's been going on here?" I asked with curiosity. "oH not much, you know, got distracted by my Dougie's moves" he giggled as Dougie blushed. "So, have you met Meredith yet? I heard she's working today!" He smiled as I squeezed Calum's had slightly. "Um yeah..she was stocking condoms in the bathroom" I shrugged. Calum still said nothing. "oH yes! We have to do that too isn't she just precious!" He clapped a single clap as he spoke. I looked at Calum once again "Are you okay? You seem-" "Hey guys!" I got cut off by Meredith as she walked up to us. Fucks sake what does she want now? "Soooo Frank and Dougie. You guys are lovely but you smoke wayyy too much weed. You didn't even remember that I went to school with you in 2017? You didn't even remember that I dated Luke in the last term of school?" She giggled. Ugh she just had to bring that up. "Ohh now I get it, that explains....never mind.." Franks face went blank. "Yup weed can make you forget things!" Meredith sat down with us, wish she didn't. "Gah now thats five students I went to school with are customers. You four and Chuck! My other stupid ex, I saw him earlier and avoided him like the plague. He broke my heart that year." She played with her hair as my jaw dropped. The fuck? Why is Chuck here? That's the last thing I need to hear. Calum's face went white AF. Is he fucking okay? "oH shit..." Frank mumbled and Dougie just stayed awkwardly silent.

Why is everyone acting so weird here? "Chuck? Chuck is here? Seriously?" I started to feel myself getting extremely annoyed. "Yep, he was here like five minutes ago. Heard he's the manager of a stupid fruity scented bleach company now. Ironic hey?" She laughed and looked at Calum "cause of the bleach you poured in his eyes!" She carried on laughing "Shut the fuck up!!" Calum trembled and gave her a deadly stare. Wait...wait... I just processed what was happening and why Calum had been acting so weird lately. He lied to me! "Ah shit!" Frank legged it, pulling Dougie with him so they were far away. I stood up ferociously. "Alright that's enough!" I stared at Calum. "Something you want to tell me?" I folded my arms. He gulped and sh00k his head really fast. "Hey don't be mad! Everyone knew he poured bleach in Chucks right eye and blinded him!" Meredith scoffed. I looked at her and gave her a glare. "Look I know I was nice to you in the bathroom but can you fuck off now?" "It's okay you have a right to be angry! He did sleep with me whilst we were dating after all. Pfffft." She jogged away back to work. I rolled my eyes at her sly comments and went back to facing Calum "Seriously Calum, you've been acting off ever since the boys mentioned work." I chugged my drink because I needed it after finding this out. "Just...erm.. a coincidence I guess?" He was a terrible liar. "Why do I feel like you're lying to me? You know what, fine. Forget it." I took my hand away from Calum's resulting in him getting upset and taking my hand again. "Luke wait...I didn't want to upset you, we need the money okay! And he's really nice to me, he's changed a lot Luke. Must have had therapy or some shit. He seems to...really have his life sorted out" Calum squeezed my hand as if he were begging for my forgiveness. I stayed silent for about thirty seconds with the biggest 😶 face ever. "Calum you lied to me." I said bluntly and sighed "I get it, but seriously, Chuck? After all that shit he did and you're gonna let him back into our lives because of some extra money? Fucks sake Calum." I took my hand away again. "We did some bad shit to him as well Luke. You punched him and kicked him several times, hell I poured bleach in his eyes for fucks sake and he still wants to be my friend!" He cried "This may not be a bad idea after all, he seems to have really changed his ways!" He said with positivity. I tried to lighten up but I was just too angry, especially after remembering how Chuck came on the scene with us in the first place. On my first day of school, the first day I met Calum and he attacked me because I had an argument with his girlfriend. Well, fucking one of them. And since then his psychopathic and homophobic bullying continued until school finished, I don't know what the fuck was wrong with him.
