"Luna sees people for who they are on the inside, and she sees Draco as broken in need of repair."

---

It had been about half a month since Draco and I last spoke, nearly one full since we were in his secret room together.

We didn't go farther than a kiss and for that I was glad, being only thirteen.

But it didn't seem like any like that was ever going to happen again. We weren't even talking.

I was only somewhat okay with that.

That part of me that wanted it to be over was satisfied but the other that wanted me to get to know him wasn't.

On the bright side, I was finally starting to find my way around Hogwarts and was doing well in my classes.

I was spending most of my time with Hermione, Cedric or Blaise and I rarely saw Harry or Ron.

---

"Being different isn't always a bad thing." I overheard a girl say while she spoke to Neville and Hermione.

The girl was quite peculiar, with homemade looking glasses and a bright outfit which didn't match. Her voice seemed didn't to match her exterior, as she was a very soft spoken person with excellent features. Interesting.

"Eden meet Luna Lovegood." Neville spoke, pulling me out of my thoughts.

I nodded to them both.

Luna extended her leg to me. I gave her a puzzled look.

"Tapping shoes is much safer than silly handshakes." She smiled, giggling softly at her words.

I tapped my shoe against hers, just to make her happy, and stepped next to Hermione.

"What are you guys up too?" I asked, watching Luna hum a soft tune to herself.

"We're talking about Nevilles birthday." Hermione said happily, hitting Nevilles shoulder slightly.

He smiled awkwardly at the ground, not used to all this attention.

"Happy birthday!" I clapped, "When is it?"

Luna spun herself around in a circle, her long blonde hair flowing through the air. Hermione watched her, shaking her head slightly but with a smile.

"Actually my birthday is in July." He stopped talking as Hermione cleared her throat.

"Oh I just can't hold it in any longer!" She interrupted, clasping her hands together. "Luna and I are throwing Neville a birthday party because his grandma forgot his."

Neville frowned a little, hurt by the thought. It didn't phase him for too long as he nodded along.

"How exciting." I smiled, hopefully getting an invitation.

Neville handed me a piece of parchment and opened his mouth, closing it immediately.

I took it gratefully and read it aloud, "You are cordially invited to Neville Longbottoms medium birthday party."

"I came up with medium." Luna said proudly, brushing her hair with a fork. "It's past his date of birth but in time enough to make it still grand."

Luna made absolutely no sense. Why she was brushing her hair a this moment, I didn't know and why with a fork? Yet she was unique and I already enjoyed being around her.

"Of course I'll go." I said, leaning against Hermione.

"It's a ball and as I'm sure your familiar with," Neville stood up and straightened his Gryffindor tie, "The dress code is fancy."
