Fairy Tail: An Aqaurius Quest

Writing this story was pretty therapeutic for me not gonna lie. Normally I just shotgun a half fanfiction in one go and forget about it for months until enough people nag me about finishing it. With this one, I wrote about one- two chapters a day. And here we are. I might end up writing another NaLu fic that takes place directly after the wedding? Who knows?

Let's get down to the reason I wrote this story. I have read droves and droves of NALU first kiss/ first time budding relationship type fanfics. It's... Usually disappointing to read. Anyone who's actually had sex with someone can affirm that straight up smut or lemons is just cringey as all get out. And frankly, it's not true to our favorite characters.

That's what was most important. Natsu is, to put it mildly, socially inept. He was raised by a dragon in the middle of the woods. So he's not gonna know how to kiss, when would be the right time, how to talk about his feelings, and he definitely is not going to tie her up and do all the NASTY things y'all think he would.

It's gonna be awkward, and exciting, and completely unplanned. To be honest, I don't see a scenario where either one initiates a physical relationship.

She's so awkward anytime he does anything remotely romantic, and he's so behind on dating as an adult, he has no idea of how to start anything.

I mean, the finale is a prime example of this.

So I wrote it this way because, if it were to happen, it would be accidentally and I don't think they would react badly to it. Or you know, maybe in a situation like Gajeel and Levy. But definitely not a sit down, hot and heavy talk. And they definitely arent having any pornstar sex. Like I said, I tried my absolute best to remain true to these characters and their genuine behavior.

Another thing I would like to outline because it is so so so important to remember. Natsu asked for consent. He didn't bend her over and pound her. He asked for consent. Which is something I think Natsu would do. He's a monster to the rest of the world, but not her.

Ik this is just a story, but I'm not dumb. Ik there are high schoolers who will find this fic and I want you guys to know. Consent is important. If you aren't ready, you aren't ready and don't be afraid to say no.
