I used my portable scanner and it showed internal bleeding and multiple broken bones. He had very little chance if taken to the colony. I held him tightly as I flew as fast as I could towards my home with him in my arms. The flight took me almost 30 minutes flying as fast as I could to get him to my home. I went straight into my ship and opened the emergency medical pod and put him inside of it then activated it.

The pod went into immediate action as I set it for full emergency trauma care. A scan showed that it was going to be a close call but that he had a decent chance if left in the care of the medical pod for a few days. It was risky but the pod needed full power so I activated the ship's main reactor. The ship was heavily shielded but it still left a very easy to follow energy signature when not in stealth mode.

I went to my workshop after hooking my blaster up to the charger in the ship. With the ship's power systems running the blaster would be fully charged in a matter of hours instead of days. The ship could easily spare the power to charge it where as my solar and wind power generators could only spare a trickle of power to charge the blaster.

I made sure everything in the ship was running correctly before returning to the medical pod. According to the scans it would heal most three days before this man was ready to be released from the medical pod. Any sooner and he would not be fully healed and I did not want that for him. I knew from experience how bad it hurt when you are released from the medical pod and not fully healed.

My next problem was going to be of how to get this person back to his people and not reveal myself to them. I was not sure how they would react to seeing me since it would be obvious that I am not human. I could hide my wings but this was not an option I wanted to consider as it was not comfortable for me to have them folded so tightly against my back.

I tinkered with a few ideas and finally got tired enough to get some sleep. I saved my design ideas and shut everything down except for two small lights and a pair of small fans used to circulate the air in my underground home. I slept well and woke up the next morning ready to tackle a few projects needing to be done around my homestead.

I ate a light meal of some blue fruit and a bit of juice from a rock fruit tree. The meal and the juice gave me the energy needed to start my day and to keep me going. I fixed one windmill and two of my solar collectors by mid day and then got to work on planting the field I had stopped fertilizing three days earlier so it would not be a muddy mess when I started planting.

I took a break about halfway through and ate a snack then got back to work planting a bunch of seeds into the soil so in a few weeks I would have some vegetables from Earth to supplement my diet as well. Planting took most of the rest of the day to get done but I was glad to have it done and over with as I would begin harvesting in about a week from my other field I had planted about eight weeks ago.

I had planted corn, tomatoes, carrots, and a bunch of potatoes for food. The soil here was excellent for growing food and with the hunting I also did there was a good amount of meat in my freezer as well. I figured that with the way I ate and burned off energy in flying and working that I had enough stored food to last at least six weeks if I had to stop harvesting and hunting.
