The program took five hours to find the genetic code that was being messed with and with help from Alena and Mitch I was able to find away to destroy the virus. Mitch got frustrated with a series of attempts at finding something and threw a poisonous fruit at one of the samples in frustration. He was cleaning up the mess when I decided out of curiosity to take a look at the toxin in the fruit.

The fruit had contaminated the blood sample but it was surprising to me when I looked at the results Something in the fruit was killing the virus off fast but not doing anything other than leaving a minor bit of chemical compound behind that would make you sick a bit for a few weeks. This was a breakthrough I had been hoping to find but from an unexpected source.

I rounded up several of the fruit carefully and began looking at them and isolating all of their juices bit by bit. Inside of three more days Alena called me to look at one of the samples she had running through an analyzer. "Not only is the virus stopped dead in it's tracks, it's completely destroyed. The next question is how strong this has to be to work."

Over the next ten hours all of us worked hard on different levels of the compound and found that while the amount of compound needed was small it was also hard on the body. Darius came up with a simple idea to counter that by adding in some minor levels of vitamins and minerals as well as some other things it would tear out of the body when it mixed with the virus in the bloodstream.

The new serum was tested by one of the patients that was so close to death that they were not likely to live even in the medical pods. She stole a vial and then injected herself with it before we could stop her. "I know you blame yourself but we need a test subject and since you have not let anyone test it I will test it for you."

She was moved to isolation and watched carefully for the next five days as she slowly began to improve and get better. After ten days she was able to leave the isolation under her own power with no sign of the virus. She was still fairly weak but she was cured of the mess I had created all those many hateful years ago.

It took myself, Alena, Mitch, Darius and three others five more days to get the antidote into everyone that needed it. Within another three weeks Alena was showing even more and complaining about having labor pains. A scan revealed she was very close to her due date and could safely give birth any day. She listened and promised to take it easy but still refused to stay on the ground and spent hours each day flying with Mitch and several others.

Once the last of us were free of the last of the effects of the virus I finally said yes to Darius. The ceremony went off with more visitors than I expected. The entire avian colony showed up, All the cat folk showed up along with everyone that had been treated like garbage by me when we first came to this world. Everyone surprised me by not holding my past against me.

They all heard about what the chips had forced me to do and no one blamed me for my actions while I was being controlled by those things. I tossed the flowers up high and was surprised as Melina was the one that caught them while just standing there on the ground watching and smiling at the ceremony. We all laughed but she kept them and did not toss them into the air again.

Iran a scan over her but she was healthy and not pregnant. She had lost her virginity though but the boy was right next to her and had eyes only for her. He had it bad for her. She was now 16 but it looked like it would not be long before she was either pregnant or engaged. Alena saw me scanning Melina and laughed about it.
