The cat girl was half nude and her clothing ripped to shreds so that nothing was hidden from view. She was very attractive and bleeding heavily from where the cats had gotten past her defenses a couple of times. My first aid kit was back at the shelter and without thinking twice about the possible problems it could cause I took her there. I left one spear behind and still lodged in the throat of the creature as my wings worked to keep me balanced in the flight back to my home.
She was in sorry shape from the numerous wounds so it took me some time to stitch her wounds shut. She was out cold and it was good thing as the wounds would hurt quite a bit and so would my field stitching them shut to stop the bleeding. With the wounds cleaned and field stitched shut I laid her inside my tent on the pile of furs I used to cushion my wings from the hard cave floor. She was covered by me with three more large furs as well to give her some privacy.
Very few women like being stared at when they are nude and unconscious and it was a safe bet that this young woman would be the same way. I put a canteen of fresh water next to her and her knife as well once it was retrieved by me. The spear broke when it was being pulled out of the cat creature so I left it behind after field dressing them and flying them back to my home.
The things were a pain to skin but once this was done then the meat was cooked and added to my small stores of meat. With no way to refrigerate the meat it was always cooked right away so it would not spoil before it was eaten in a few days. While the young girl was unconscious it was time for me to clean the hides of the cats and tan them.
She finally woke up a few days later as I was putting a fresh canteen of water next to her after checking on her stitches to make sure they had not become infected or been pulled out before the wounds healed enough. She had been unconscious for three days and was very surprised to find herself in my care when she woke up.
I'm not sure which surprised her more. The fact that she was alive and in a tent, or the fact that that I had wings. She sat up slowly and felt her body where the stitches held wounds closed. She tried to speak, which surprised me, but her throat was very dry. "There's water in that if you want it. I just put it there a few minutes ago." She kept an eye on me as she drank water from the canteen until she felt better. "Where am I and what are you?"
"You are in my tent, not far from where you were attacked. As for who I am, my name is Mitch. Yes, the wings are real and yes I can really fly. I'm an outcast because of them so I live here where those who would kill me for being different can not easily find me."
She thought a moment then spoke. Do you have any food to eat. I'm hungry." "Do you want plants or meat or both?" "You grow safe food?" "Yes ma'am. I also hunt for what little bit of meat I have." "Show me what food you have." I showed her the meat and then the plants I had grown and harvested as well. She ate several large steaks and several different types of fruit then drank more water.
"I can not do anything for your pain so I apologize for the pain you must be feeling right now. I did what I could to sew the wounds shut and stop your bleeding. I did nothing else to you I promise. I covered you with the furs to hide what I am sure you did not want me to see. If I offended you I am sorry."
She smiled at me before speaking. "You did not try to mate with me without permission?" "I would never do that to anyone. I was raised to be polite and to offer help and kindness where I can." "Thank you for saving me. How long have I been here?" "You have been here for almost three days. You lost a lot of blood and I had no way of knowing if you would wake up. I did the best I could and I am happy you have lived."
