"I agree with you on that. When you knocked them around real good the first time they were forced to abandon a ship and leave it floating dead in space in order to get back to home and raise a fleet to comeback with. Most of the ship is open to space and it will never fly again, but it was their medical ship they had to leave behind. That class of medical ship has no less than 25 medical pods and a mountain of medical supplies and spare parts for all those pods. We can get a couple of drones to scan for traps then steal all the pods, reactor and as much stuff we can salvage from the ship. The avian colony is almost impossible to spot even with good scanners. We can use their colony as our medical center and make sure it is heavily armored against attack by moving the entire facility underground to shield it and hide it from prying eyes. Susan is a hell of a medical technician and within a few days found a cure for that disease. This is just the sort of thing she would like to do I bet. I wont force her but we can at least tell her the full truth and and let her decide."
Jake smiled and I grabbed Mitch, kissed him then replied finally. "You are a genius! I bet the Panthrin and Tigrin can help find survivors and get them relocated to the medical facility and take care of anyone with hostile intentions. I'll run it all past Susan tomorrow after I get some rest. I'm too tired to fly back to my place now that I've had a chance to sit down and rest."
Mitch picked me up and I laughed as he carried me to his old place and then put me to bed. "Unless you get over here I'll get right back up again!" He laughed, turned the lights off and joined me. "You don't play fair my dear. I was going to come back anyways. I think some rest would do us both good."
He was right. We both needed the rest. It was almost noon when I heard a scratching at the door and laughed about it. I think we have company my dear." Mitch opened the door and Wolf came bounding into greet me and Mitch in his usual way. I wrestled with him for a few minutes and finally got the best of him until he cheated and began licking my face as I laughed and his madly waging tail beat on my legs.
Mitch laughed out loud and was tackled a moment later and subjected to the same treatment as I got out of bed. We had been so busy for almost a week that we had not seen much of Wolf and he obviously missed us. After a few minutes of wrestling with Wolf he finally let us both up and set there panting and waging his tail then bounded off when he saw Melina walking our way with Tommy and Janice.
I laughed as he tackled Melina while Janice just stood there laughing about it and poor Tommy looked half afraid and slightly confused. After a few minutes he finally let Melina up and then seemed almost to be smiling as Janice reached down and used both hands to scratch him behind the ears in the places he always loves to be scratched at. Tommy crouched down and lowered his gaze then slowly extended a hand to let wolf make up his own mind about trust.
Wolf sniffed the hand then walked all around Tommy while sniffing him. Tommy was afraid but was smart enough to not back down or try to challenge Wolf by looking him in the eyes. After what seemed an eternity to poor Tommy wolf sat and looked at him then at Melina fora minute before padding over to Melina and pushing her over next to Tommy as she laughed about it. When she about fell Tommy instinctively reached up and caught her without even thinking about it.
Melina smiled at finding herself in his arms and simply wrapped her arms around him before kissing him. When they broke the kiss they simply looked in each others eyes and smiled before realizing they were not alone. Melina blushed as did Tommy while Wolf merely waged his tail and looked happy. Mitch was the first to break the silence. "Definitely bonded. I know that look all too well. Are you pregnant yet, Melina?" "Not yet I don't think. I wanted to talk to Alena or someone to see if we could get something to prevent it from happening just yet." I can barely keep my hands off of him and the dreams are not helping either of us to stay responsible. We've been careful about doing anything but it's going to happen and soon."
