Jeremy came out of the rear of the engineering access crawl way in pain with severe burns on his right hand. I grabbed him and sprayed his hand with a numbing agent then injected a regenerative agent into his hand. "Thanks Alena. I found a nasty trick someone left behind in the power regulation circuits. If we had tried to fly off then it would have triggered a reactor overload and breach. I got it out,but the damned thing fried my hand. I got mad for second and threw the wrench."
I smiled at him and then spoke up. "I'll send a repair drone in to scan everything in full detail. If there are anymore surprises left it will find them on a detailed scan. It will take a few days to doa full detailed scan but better safe than sorry. When we get Susan out then I want you to get that hand healed real fast. I know you hate wasting resources like that, but you are a hard worker and it is not a waste to heal the hand so you can keep working productively."
Jeremy laughed lightly then gave in and agreed. All five of us worked to get everything ready for retrieving Susan from the medical pod. I watched with Mitch as Susan was slowly stabilized and given a sedative to keep her asleep so she could be transported more easily and without risk to anyone. The pod opened quietly and Susan was carefully moved onto a padded basket type litter.
We planned to fly her back to my ship while she was in this as it made it easier for us to carry her there without risking any possible injury. Sarah looked nervous as she saved the information on Susan's current medical condition. "You two ready?" I looked nervously at Mitch then took a deep breath to calm my nerves. "Ready as we'll ever be. I'll take the head and Mitch can take the feet. We can drop her into the lake at about the middle and and claim it was an accident."
Sarah looked at me and shook her head. "You are a bad liar Alena." "True. But it got you to relax a little. We'll send you updates everyday on her condition. By the way, Melina is still behaving and they have not done anything. Her little boyfriend is good for her and she is good for him as well. Susan hurt them both pretty good but they are working it out a little bit at a time.
Well,we've stalled long enough. We need to get her into the pod on my ship so Mitch and I can get some work done on harvesting some of the plants that are ready to be harvested. Adam will also be stopping byin a few weeks and he will be wanting some of that fruit juice I make so I have to get plenty of it made and ready to send with him in exchange for some seeds of plants his tribe grows."
We slowly carried Susan out of the ship and let everyone see us as we carried her carefully out. Once everyone was satisfied that there was nothing being hidden from them we took to the sky and flew towards my ship with her while she slept. It took us almost 15minutes to get over the lake and back to my place.
Once there we got her into the pod and set it to regenerate the wings, remove the chips and then do the best it could to heal any injuries and restore her body's natural chemical balance. We could only hope that when she was released from the pod she would be a nicer person and not mentally impaired due to damage caused by the removal of the chips. "Ten days before she will be ready to be released from the pod. Hopefully all goes well."
It was a long and stressful ten days of waiting with Mitch and I making love almost every chance we got. I did not mind the sex and loved every second of it. When not in bed we were busy getting crops in and helping the colonists and even giving Melina flying lessons. Jake and Sarah kept the colonists calm and up to date on everything concerning Susan.
