Nightmares

Chapter 20:

I hear soft cries and I look to my right and I see him.

I freeze as I see him. He's been beaten nearly to death. I quickly run over to him but as quietly as I can. I don't know how long he's been here chained up but I need to get him put of here as fast and quietly as I can. I slice the chains open with one of my lightsabers. There's chains on his neck, arms, legs and then one over his mouth. Once I free him in a instant he falls into my arms.

"Ah-Ahsoka..it's..it's a trap." Instantly I'm suddenly shocked with a shock of electricity and I fall to the ground. Kalen lays on top of me and in a matter of seconds everything is a blur until my world is turned black.

When I awake I'm chained up. My neck aches when I move. I look around in the room, it's the main room of his tower. The execution room. The door swings open and the last person I want to see walks in.

She smirks when she sees me and I glare at her. I reach down to my side's and feel nothing. I look down and see my lightsabers gone. She laughs knowing what I was doing. "Your awake." I roll my eyes, ignoring her and looking away. I used to call her my friend. But she betrayed me. "Ignoring me huh? You know that's not going to save Kalen's life." I instantly look right back. My neck aches at the fast and sudden movement. Kalen. How could I forget about him. He's the reason why I even came back to this dreaded place. He had contacted me through his code name 'Fulcrum'. I had made that name if one of us was in trouble. When he contacted mother and I, I didn't hesitate to come. He needs me. I need him.

"Where is he!" I yell at her, she simply laughs. "This is not funny!" She opens her mouth to speak but is interrupted by someone else walking in the room.

Cree.

"So it's true. She's back." He smirks right at me and I glare at him. "Bring him in." He orders Barriss. I know who. Barriss came back in and threw Kalen on the floor like an animal. "Don't you dare touch him again!" I yell at both of them. They laugh and Cree whispers something to Barriss, she nods and comes over to me. She unlocks the chains around me and I prepare myself to land. I fall on both of my feet and let out a sigh.

"Go." She orders. I look at her and then went straight for Kalen. He had very deep cuts, bruises and gashes opened. "Ahsoka?" He asks, I grab both of his hands and hold them with my own. "I'm here." I whisper to him. I block out my surroundings, just Kalen and I. Only the two of us.

"Kal-" I'm cut off when I'm pulled back. Cree is now sitting in his throne chair. I gasp at the sudden movement. Barriss comes in front of me and grabs Kalen by the throat. I'm instantly filled with anger. "Let him go!"

I watch as Kalen fights for air. Barriss smilies wickedly at me. I get up and try to run towards them but I'm grabbed by two guards I didn't realise we're in here.

"Do it." Cree orders Barriss. I look over at Kalen and still see him gasping for air as Barriss holds him by the throat. "My pleasure." She responds before igniting her red blade.

No. No. NOO!

She takes one look at me before she stabs Kalen right in the chest with her blade. She lets him go and he falls right to the floor. Lifeless...

"KALEN!"

Ahsoka POV:

"NOOO!"

I spring up in my bed breathing very hard. I reach up and touch my face, it's covered in sweat.

Another nightmare. Same one.

I look at my nightstand and see its 2:30. There's no sleeping after Kalen so I get up and swing my legs over the bed and my feet makes contact with the cold floor making me shiver.

I walk downstairs and pour myself a glass of water. I walk to the backdoor. I open it and walk outside. Once I walk out I feel the cold air. But I like it. I sit on one of the steps on the back porch.

Kalen and I we're the complete opposites but we would always do the same things. If he liked one thing I didn't and he wanted me to do it with him, I would, and vice versa. He was amazing, funny, and sweet. I loved his smile it was perfect. He brought you happiness whenever you were feeling down.

I failed him. He didn't deserve what happened to him. It's my fault he's dead. Because I let people in, trust them, and then they betray me. 

Barriss is not going to hurt me again.
