Chapter 31:

Ahsoka POV :

Obi Wan plays the video and there she is.

My mom. She's on her knees, looking down. Her eyes are covered with cloth and so is her mouth.

"Ahsoka Tano," A voice that sends chills down my spine.

Two new but familiar people come from behind my mom.

Barriss and Cree.

"You want your mother alive," Barris says. "Come and get her. We won't hesitate to kill her." 

I look down at my mother and she's doing signals with her hand.

"Start the video again," I tell Obi Wan and he nods.

She starts doing the hand signals.

Okay mom.

The video ends and I turn around. Their all looking at me.

"I know where she is," I tell them. Padme and Aayla sigh in relief. Rex nods and Obi Wan runs a hand on his face. Anakin walks to me with Ruby still in his arms. She's asleep.

"Where?" he ask.

"Shili." I answer. Damn Shili.

I look down at Ruby. I can't take her there. She can't stay here.

"I know where we can take her," I look at Obi Wan, we all do.

"Where?" I ask in a low tone.

Obi Wan glances at Anakin before answering me.

"Mandalore."

"Obi Wan..." Anakin starts saying but he shakes his head.

"She needs to be safe. I know where she can be safe." Anakin slowly nods. Rex whispers something to Obi Wan and he nods.

"With who?" I ask. I am not sending Ruby to someone I don't know.

"An old friend of mine." he answers.

I look at Anakin. He nods

"I promise you that Ruby will be safe. I would never put her in danger." Anakin confirms when I don't say anything.

"Okay," Obi Wan nods and he walks out the door.

"I need to get something." I turn around and walk up the stairs.

I need them now.

I open the door to the closet and take the box out.

I open it and there they are.

My lightsabers. Untouched for months.

Kalens lightsaber sit next to mine.

I grab both of them. They feel different. Fragile.

I take a deep breathe and ignite them.

Blue. Their blue. Not green anymore but blue.

I grab Kalens and ignite it. Green. Their still green.

I place them back in the box and walk downstairs with them. They all look at me when they see me. Anakin looks down at the box and raises an eyebrow.

"I'll go with Obi Wan and then go alone to Shili." I tell them, not wanting to talk about what's in the box.

"Alone? You're mistaken. We are all going with you." Anakin says and I shake my head. I've already made up my mind.

"No, you don't understand. It's dangerous." I can't lose you.
