Chapter III

Changes

I got up that morning ready to go around town with my brother.

I quickly showered, put on mascara and lip gloss and then put on skinny jeans and a white, cropped, off-shoulder, long sleeve top.

I bounced down the stairs and went to the kitchen to get something to eat before we leave.

"Oh hey mom. Didn't think you were gonna be here, where's Jax?" I saw my mom at the stove.

"Oh Jax had to go to to school. His principal called and said he needed him for an exam or something like that. He said he's sorry but he couldn't ignore him." My mom explained.

I was sad but it was understandable.

"So you start school on Wednesday. Claire already called and said your car is getting here tomorrow. Your father and I are going out for dinner tonight so you'll be home with Allison."

"She's here!?" I squealed.

I didn't even let my mom answer before I ran upstairs to my sister's room. I knocked on the door but I couldn't wait to see her so I was jumping up and down waiting for her to open up.

"Ugh who is it?" I heard her groan.

"Your sister that you haven't seen for 4 years!" I smiled.

The door pulled again and we squeezed each other.

"Hi! When'd you get here?" She asked.

"Yesterday afternoon. Mom said you were at a friends house when I got here." I pulled away from her

"Babe?" I heard a man's voice behind us.

Allison turned around and I could see a shirtless guy in her bed.

"Oh babe, this is my sister, Danielle who just got back from California after 4 years. Danielle, this is my boyfriend, Harvey. The "friend" I was with." She introduced us.

"Uh hi." I waved at him.

"What's up?" he smiled at me.

Allison went to her drawer to put on some shorts or change or something.

He was pretty attractive. He had a deep brown, almost black, short, ruffled, bed hair. He had deep green eyes with pink, plump lips.

His body was extremely hot. A 6 pack with bulging muscles to go along with it.

Allison really hit the jackpot with him.

I looked back up at him to see him give me a cheeky grin, enhancing the dimples I hadn't noticed before, before winking at me.

I looked down as heat quickly ran up my cheeks.

He's my sisters boyfriend! What the hell?

He got up and went over to Allison, wrapping his hands around her waist. He whispered something in her hair and she giggled and passed him a shirt.

"I'll be in my room if you need me." I said before walking away.

"Nice meeting you!" Harvey yelled as I walked down the hall.

God, his voice was deep.

I walked back into the room and laid down on the bed. I was so bored.

I had absolutely nothing to do.

Allison has a boyfriend.

Mom and Dad had a dinner tonight.

Jax had to go to college.

Suddenly my phone started ringing. Jax was calling. I quickly picked up the phone.

"Hey Jax."

"Hey Ellie. I hope mom told you what happened."

"Yeah it's ok. I'll be fine. I couldn't expect you to ignore your principal for me." I sadly smiled even though he couldn't see.

"I still wanted you to get a feel of the city so I asked Xavier to come show you around."

My body froze.

"..."

"Ellie? You good?"

"Uh yeah. Yeah no sorry I'm ok." I quickly responded.

"Alright well he should be getting there in the next five minutes. Hope you're ready."

"Yeah I am. Thanks, I'll see you when you get back."

"Yeah alright bye."

We hung up.

I took a deep breath and gave one last look in the mirror. I looked fine.

I walked downstairs and pulled open the door and saw Xavier there with his hand up as if he was about to knock.

"Uh hey." I spoke up.

"Come on, let's go." he turned and started walking towards the driver side of the door.

Wow, what a gentleman he is.
