Chapter V

New Beginnings

Today, I was finally starting school.

My car had been delivered.

I had new, fashionable clothes.

I was ready to take on the world.

Maybe I should take on a shower first. I just woke up and I was extremely excited. I know usually people hate school and I know I will, but it's my first day in a new state. Let me be excited.

I got in the bathroom and brushed my teeth before hopping in the shower. I washed my hair, cleaned my body and shaved.

When I got out, I went to my closet to get some clothes. I wanted to make an entrance but still keep to myself.

I decided to wear a light grey loose crop top that said 'Mentally Gone' and white ripped shorts to pair it with. I grabbed my black and white converse and was done.

I just straightened my hair and put on some powder, mascara and lipgloss before I went downstairs.

"Morning mom." I greeted as I saw her in the kitchen. "Hey sweetie," she turned around and looked at me. "are you ready?" I just smiled in response to her question.

"I need to go now so I'll see you later." I hugged her. "Alright see you." she smiled at me.

I hopped in my car and drove off.

When I finally arrived, I saw a bunch of people standing around talking to their friends and groups.

I could never.

I got out of the car and started making my way to the entrance.

I walked in and there was a bunch of students who were talking to their friends and walking to their classes.

I quickly looked around wondering where the front office was when suddenly a girl came up to me.

"Hi! Are you new? You must be new. Nobody just stands in the hallway like this. You're probably looking for the office aren't you? Yeah, come on. The office is this way. Oh how rude of me, I'm Alex. What's you're name?"

Wow she talks a lot.

"Uh, oh uh D-Danielle. Nice to meet you." I stuttered, I had never met a girl as... chirpy as she was.

She better not think we're friends.

"Nice to meet you, Danielle. I'll show you around. This place sucks. It's the worst school. We do really well in sports though and we have a lot of smart people but other than that, it's boring. You'll probably hate this place after a week. I know I did. I'm sorry, I talk a lot." She rambled.

"Yeah I can tell." I mumbled under my breath, but judging by the look on her face, she heard.

I sighed, "Thank you for showing me around. She just smiled and nodded.

It was currently lunch and so far, the day had been pretty average. I had History first, then Calculus, Biology, Lunch, Art, ELAR and Gym.

I was sitting with Alex and her friends right now. They served burgers with fries and I got chips and an Arizona from the vending machine they had on the side.

"So how was California?" Carson, one of Alex's friends asked. "Hot" I rolled my eyes before biting into the juicy burger laid in front of me.

They all laughed.
