Chapter XII

Meant To Be

I was still looking for Xavier but who knows where he could be.

That castle..

Was that his place?!

I had no idea he could be that rich.

I drove towards the school and stopped where I had been the last time I came across this place.

I parked on the side of the road and got out of the car. I walked in to the woods and hoped I would remember the way.

I walked into the woods and tried to remember the way I went last time.

Before I knew it, I was there once again.

I went to the door and knocked on it.

Am I supposed to knock or just walk in? Too late now, I guess.

The door opened and I saw a random guy stare at me with wide eyes.

"L-Luna, c-come in!" He moved out of the way and opened the door wider for me to enter.

"Um thank you." I shyly smiled at him.

A loud growl dragged my attention to the stairs.

"What the hell are you doing here!?" Xavier growled at me.

"You ran off so I came looking for you." I looked down as my shoes suddenly became my center of attention.

"Out!" He yelled and I, weirdly, didn't flinch.

I gasped when I felt his hand under my chin, forcing me to look up at his eyes.

"What're you doing here?" he asked sternly.

"I-I told you. Y-You ran off and I felt really b-bad." I stuttered, feeling nervous under his gaze.

"Why?" he asked, letting go of my chin.

"W-Why what?" I asked nervously.

"Why did you feel bad? You said you couldn't be the Luna so I came here to find another Luna." You could practically see the anger and pain dripping from his words.

He backed away from me and pinched the bridge of his nose.

Jealousy boiled in me for the first time, hearing that he was going to pick some other girl over me.

"No." I said randomly.

A huge grin appeared on his face and my heart swelled.

"No?" he asked, smiling.

"I-I meant I thought I was your Luna." I stuttered going back to my normal character.

"But you said you couldn't be my Luna, remember?" he stalked towards me.

"Uh um- talk with your words babygirl." he interrupted my flustered stuttering.

"If you want to be the Luna," he stood in front of me as I kept my eyes on the floor.

"Then say so. It's your rightful place after all, isn't it?" he lifted my chin to meet his gaze.

His eyes...

"I-I do." I stuttered, clearly redder than a tomato.

"Mm, that's all I wanted to hear you say." he whispered in my ear before pulling away.

"Wait a minute, what happened to your party?" He asked, realizing what was happening when he left.

"Oh! I forgot. I need to go but I'll um, see you later." I nervously spoke.

"I'll see you later princess." he smirked before watching me walk out.

Oh god! What the hell happened to me?

I returned back home and the party was still happening.

Hope no one noticed the birthday girl missing.

I walked in and went to meet up with my brother and parents in the kitchen.

"Hey Ellie, did you fix things with Xavier?" Jax asked as I walked in before wrapping his arms around my shoulder.

I nodded, "Yeah, I think so."

"Now, let's cut the cake!" my mom squealed before carrying the cake out and calling everyone's attention.

"Make a wish!" My dad yelled in excitement.

I laughed and wished before smiling.

"Happy birthday!" Cheers and wishes and excitement flooded the room as I giggled.

"Let's cut the cake!" my mom smiled.

I got a knife from someone and cut the cake after everyone's countdown.

"Thank you." I smiled to everyone who came.

I grabbed a slice of the cake and took the first bite as cheers went around the room.

Everyone then took a bite and sat around the living room and kitchen, indulging in their own conversations.

I finished my cake and just talked with people for a while before they all left.

After everyone had left, I was exhausted.

"Mom, I'm tired but I'll help cl- Oh no! Don't worry about it sweetheart. Go to bed, forget about the mess." My mom interrupted me before hugging me goodnight.

"Thank you. I'll see you tomorrow, love you!" I went to my room for the night.

I changed into a loose crop top and shorts before climbing under the covers and sleeping.

Dreaming about Xavier and being his Luna..
