Secrets No More

"You're a what?" he looked at me like I was crazy.

"A-A witch." I mumbled nervously.

"My baby is a powerful witch. Damn!" he mumbled softly and I couldn't help the smile that formed nor could I help the blush that creeped up my cheeks.

"Tell me all about it." he kneeled in front of me, staring into my eyes.

"Really?" I asked, jumping with joy.

"Of course baby. Now come here and talk." he patted his lap.

I bit my lip and just stared. Before I knew it, his arm was around my waist and my legs were in between his.

"Talk." he said quietly as his nose traced the curve of my neck.

"I found out when I was 12. I'd had a dream of a woman in this field. She explained everything to me and told about The Ancestors. They're witches who've died and they live in every witch. The woman in my dream appeared every night until I learned how to control and use my magic. When I left for California, the lady stopped coming and I got worried but one night, she came and told me I didn't need her anymore. That I'd be ok. After that, I never saw her again. After I came back, I started using my powers more and more but ever since I saw you at my birthday, I just felt stronger. Maybe because of the mate bond." I explained to him and he just sat there, listening and smiling at me.

"That's my girl!" my heart skipped a beat at his praise.

"Beautiful and brave, how lucky am I?" he looked eyes with me and neither of us could look away.

He brushed a piece of hair behind my ear before a knock on the door interrupted our moment.

He groaned and I giggled.

I stood up to leave for his private "Alpha" business but instead I felt a smack on my butt and then he yanked me back down onto his lap and I couldn't help but let out a yelp.

"What?" he grounded out at whoever was at the door, keeping his hands on my waist.

"A-Alpha, L-Luna, th-the visitor w-wants to- to see y-you b-both." the person outside stuttered nervously.

Xavier let out a growl. "Do you want to go?" he looked at me.

I bit my lip, not knowing what to do but Xavier pulled it back down with his thumb and it bounced back into place.

Instead of turning back to me, he kept his attention on my lips and just kept playing with my bottom lip using his thumb.

"I-I wanna go." I whispered as his thumb just lingered there and he watched.

He cleared his throat and moved his thumb before standing up with me.

As we were walking, I wanted to hold his hand but I didn't know if he would like it or be okay with it.

My fingers had other ideas though as my pinky kept trying to get his attention.

He looked at me and I blushed, looking at the floor.

His hand gripped mine and I looked up at him but he just kept moving and I smiled.

We arrived at the cells and I, once again, gripped onto his arm.

The rogue wolves already in here, snarled at me and growled.

Xavier let out an even louder and more powerful growl and they all quieted down.

When we came to the cell the rogue was, she was snarling at me and Xavier.

"What do you want?" Xavier snarled at her.

"I don't want anything. Her true mate does!" She smirked.

"He is my true mate. What're you talking about?" I asked her and she chuckled in response.

Isn't there a spell for this?

"I know a way to get the answers out of her." I looked at Xavier.

"Are you sure?" he grabbed my face in his hands and rubbed my cheeks with his thumbs and I nodded, leaning into his touch.

"Verum tantum." I closed my eyes and whispered under my breath.

"Verum tantum." I whispered again.

"Verum tantum." I repeated multiple times.

"What's your name?" I opened my eyes and asked the rogue.

"Jessica Stevens." She answered.

"What the hell was that? What did you do to me?" she snarled.

I looked over to Xavier and he had a proud grin on his face, causing me to blush.

"Ask her anything you want. She can't lie." I looked at her.

This was the first time that I'd publicly used my powers and I didn't know how I felt about it.

It was kind of awkward because I didn't want him to think I was weird so I really needed it to work but it didn't seem like he thought it was weird.

"What are you doing on my land?" Xavier asked the rogue.

"We're only here as a distraction. There are more of us to come," she stated.

"To take her." she finished.

Xavier let out a loud growl. "Why? What do you want with her?"

"Not us. Her mate. He wants her back. How dare you steal someone else's mate!?" she exclaimed.

"But he didn't. He is my mate. I don't know how I can explain it but I just- I just know it. He's my mate." I explained to her and she looked shocked.

Whoever sent them probably made them truly believe that they're my mate.

"Who sent you?" he asked.

"I don't know his name. He calls us and gives us instructions. If you really believe he's your mate and you're going to fight him, his army will destroy you and everyone you know." She looked at me.

I felt like I was going to cry and I probably was going to.

Xavier grabbed my hand and brought me out of the cells.

"Hey baby, look at me." he smiled, kneeling down to my level.

He must've noticed my wet eyes.

"Nobody is taking you away from me, you understand? Nobody!" he stroked my cheek with his hand.

I nodded and hugged him.

His face was in the crook of my neck and he was just inhaling, rubbing small circles on my back and patting my hair, both actions calming me.

"I-I think there's a spell that might help us." I whispered and he nodded, "Whatever you need, baby."

"Come on let's go upstairs." he stood up.

I walked in front of him until I felt a hard smack on my butt. I turned around red faced, and saw a grinning Xavier.

"Is there a problem?" he cheekily asked.

I could barely muster up a sentence since I was so flustered so I just turned around and kept walking.
