What if everything you did was determined by a mark? Well, in the world of Asterin, this is the case. Asterin is like a world like we have, but their rules are much more interesting.This mark occurs when a child is born,they get two marks.One that is theirs that symbolizes them and can be anywhere on the body.The second is of their soulmates.That mark starts out as a birthmark and turns into their symbol by their eighteenth birthday. Once they get their mark they have to marry their soulmate before they turn twenty-five at the latest,unless in this case you are cursed with this mark and you have until your 21st birthday to do so.If they do not or if they refuse they either get sent to Gantrick or the third world that is very mysterious to both Asterin and Gantrick.No one knows how or when this mark took place.Many people people tried to find out the history but all have failed.It was useless to find out the truth.Until one day the truth gets revealed.

Everyone knew the rules and did not dare to break them. Until about a century ago before this story takes place a man named Edmond broke this rule. He was in love with another.A man named Gantrick.It was uncommon and no one knew what to do it didn't bother them that much until they realized he was not his soulmate mark. So the night before he was set to be killed he ran away.He couldn't go back.He tried to take his lover with him but he was killed.His soulmate mark and Gantrick's were also killed since their soulmates were not allowed in Asterin anymore.He didn't know what to do.But he ran.He ran as far and as fast as he could. He left  everything he had behind.He eventually found a land no one knew about. Since no one was there, he named the land Gantrick after his lover.Once he got there he tried everything to get the mark off his skin.

He even went as far as cutting the skin off.It was useless.He covered the area with a bandage.Over the years more people came who were against the soulmate mark in Asterin. Edmond became their king since he was the founder of this land.His kingdom flourished for years,but he knew something was missing from his life there, and that was Gantrick. But that all changed when a woman named Oryn came.Edmond never was drawn to women, but Oryn was different.He was drawn to her like she was a drug.Everyone thought it was strange.Before he met her his skin would darken with black veins.Once he met her it stopped.After their first meeting they fell in love and she became Queen.No one knew her past and no one wanted to ask.They all feared her.She was mysterious.But little did he know she had a plan of her own.

After five years in a blissful marriage they conceived their eldest Elandra.Three years later Daisy.Three years past and then they conceived their oldest son Evander.Lastly another five years past and they had their twins Atlas, and Onyx,these two would end up be forgotten.They were outshined by their older siblings.About ten years later though things changed.The king was killed mysteriously.No one knew who or why.Many people had their own theories.Some believe it was a secret lover,others believe it was someone sent to kill him,but a lot of people believe it was Oryn who did it.It made sense after all no one knew how she got him to love her.Oryn took over.The kingdom instead of evolving it stayed the same with barely any changes.Many men were killed during that time mysteriously.

That all changed once her children became old enough to take the throne.Their two eldest daughters did not want to lead and no one knew why.The youngest two were too young to lead.Which leaves Evander.He became king shortly after the mysterious death of his mother.Many people were happy.They ready for the land to flourish except it didn't as much.Evander wanted to fix things with Asterin but he couldn't.After all they relied on a silly mark that told them who to love.Evander became hungry for power.He didn't want to be like his parents but he was just like his mother.Evander's older sisters were scared of him so they fled.Neither one wanted to have kids in fear of their mother.Atlas didn't mind the changes.But he ended up dying in surgery for his transition from female to male.He wanted to be like his brother.But due to their medcine not being so great he lost his life.Onyx on the otherhand fled to Asterin.She wanted to help her land.She wanted to go with her brother but he had recently died so she did it alone.She tried to get help but she was afraid of the people.She ended up living in the woods.She eventually had a daughter with a passerbyer in the woods.That daughter ended up falling in love with someone from Asterin.They had a son together.When they tried to reveal their relationship they killed them.Their son later on got adopted.

Now in present day both words are still enemies.The third world a mystery.The soulmate mark still exists in Asterin and in Gantrick it does not.The third world is forbidden to enter so everyone focuses on the two main worlds.But in this story we follow Athena.Athena,is a kind smart girl who lived in Asterin.She had her whole life put out for her but that was until her soulmate mark ruined it all.
