Rebecca

There is another ring at the door bell and I get up to get it. I open the door and Ki Hong stands in the door way with his girlfriend behind him. Ki gives me a hug and then his girlfriend.

“Where is he?” Ki asks.

“Which he?” I answer his question with a question.

“Who do you think? Your husband, Thomas.” He rolls his eyes.

“He’s in the living room with the guys.” I say and he walks off.

Ki’s girlfriend, I think her name was Kendall, stand in the hallway with me. I make small talk with her. She shows off the engagement ring that is on her ring finger. I congratulate her and Ki and she thanks me.

“Do you know what it is?” She asks and looks down at my eight month pregnant stomach.

“A boy. We are still deciding on names.” I say with a smile and place a hand on my stomach.

The baby shower goes by in a blur, eating, talking and moving around. Before we know it’s time for everyone to head home. Only a few handful of us stay for dinner. Thomas made pasta and salad, just something simple.

I sit next to Thomas on the couch as I get through my salad. Once we finish with our food everyone leaves. Thomas and I head upstairs to head to bed. It was a long, rough day.

Today is the day the Becca is coming back home with the baby. Everyone is at the house ready to surprise her and meet the baby. She delivered the baby well and he is nice and healthy. He is my whole world, my little bud.

The car comes to a stop in the hospital parking lot. I get out of the car and slam the door shut, heading into the hospital. I go up to the desk to get the check out papers for Rebecca’s release. I send her a quick text letting her know I am in the lobby.

I had the nurse behind the desk the papers back and head upstairs to go get Becca. She is lying in bed and the baby is in his carrier. I walk over to him and see that he is fast asleep.

“Don’t wake him up, he has been up all night long.” She says and I walk over to her.

I plant a soft kiss on her lips and look at my son. He has light blonde hair and big blue eyes. The doctor said that he was a perfect delivery. Without realizing my face twists into a smile.

“You ready to go?” I ask her and she nods simply.

She walks over to our baby boy and goes to pick him up, but I stop her. I pick up the carrier and walk out the door with Rebecca in front of me. We walk to the car and I lock the baby in the back so the carrier isn’t moving all around. He still stays fast asleep even with all the movement.
