Lucas and I finished our work that got sent down to us in less that 45 minutes because we helped each other, yet we still had 4 hours to spare.

"So Riley, tell me about yourself."

"Well, my name is Riley, I have a brother nam-" But Lucas cut me off

"Not that stuff. I mean, your secrets and your life from back in the city." I smiled.

"Well I had these 2 greatest friends. Maya and Farkle. The hardest thing about leaving New York was probably leaving them. I miss them so much, they were the only ever friends I had. I've never been popular and I used to get picked on a lot whenever Maya wasn't around back at my old school." I said starting to ramble. "You should meet them one day." I said "I feel you and Farkle would get along well." I said

"Maybe one day I will." Lucas said.

Lucas and I talked for a while and then the counselor sent us down to get our lunch. Lucas didn't want much and neither did I, but we still had to go in seperate lines. I waited for about 10 minutes while the kid in front of me counted out $3 worth of nickels just to get an ice cream bar and chips. Once he was finished I gave the lady my money and got what I wanted. I walked out of the lunch room and there was Lucas sitting a table, waiting for me I guess. But he wasn't alone. I decided to wait until the conversation was over to get him. I quietly sat at the table and waited to grab him.

"The way you punched him for her was so cute." The girl squealed.

"I was just mad that a guy would punch a girl like that." Lucas said giggling along with her. Here's the thing. I absolutely SUCK at flirting. I've never been good at it because of my awkward behaviour and being very clumsy it had never come to a great extent for me.

"Here is my number. Call me." The girl said as she handed Lucas a piece of paper which I assumed had her number on it. Once she stood up I decided we should go back to the office.

"Hey Lucas. Ready to go?" I said in a quiet voice. Lucas jumped a little and grabbed his chest

"Didn't see you there Riley. I'm ready. Let's go."

As we walked down the hallway I saw Lucas crumple up the number and shove it into his pocket.

"Who was that you were talking to?" I asked him quietly

"That was Rachel. Biggest god damn flirt in the grade if you ask me." He said

"Well you guys seemed to enjoy each other's company." I said again, trying my hardest not to come off as venomious.

"Are you jealous Riley?" He asked with a playful tone of his voice. I thought of a quick cover up

"N-no it just seems like you guys were enjoying talking to each other, h-h-hence me not interrupting the conversation." I said stuttering a little bit. I couldn't be jealous, I've only known the kid for 3 weeks barely.

"Okay Riley." He said. "And if it makes you feel better, I'm not going to text her. She gives her number out to 4 guys a day." I smiled slightly. After a few minutes of silence in the office I decided to make small talk
