"Sometimes, the innocent get hurt. But one by one, the guilty will pay. Nothing ever goes exactly as you expect. And mistakes are life and death. Collateral damage is inescapable."

"BLAIRE."
"MUM. LET ME GO. LET ME SEE MY MOTHER."

That's all you could hear. The screaming of two people who love each other be separated from one another. I could feel my life being ripped apart and im in this inescapable whirlwind of pain. All I could remember was the last words she said to me before we was separated forever.

"Blaire I love you so much."

Blaire I love you so much. Blaire I love you so much.

Who knew 6 words would mean everything to me. It was the words that got me through everything. It was the words that helped me survive. It was the words that helped me mask my pain and be the motivation to help me be who I am today.

I watched as the FBI drag her small body into the car and I was lifted by three large men into another vehicle as I was being more resistance. Before I was put into a car I looked into two pairs of eyes. Eyes which belonged two faces I'll never forget. Those bright green eyes filled with guilt and a pair of brown eyes filled with evil. It didn't change anything because the damage was done. what they did had left me broken.

.......

I shook my head, closing my eyes tightly once again and sprinted across Central Park. I was losing control of my body, this place put me mentally in a much worse place than I anticipated. I was being intoxicated by the memories and the way it was heading, it would ruin me before I can ruin them.

Oomf.

My mind had distracted me with what I was doing and now I managed to hurt myself and someone else. Our bodies collided and we both hit the ground. I looked up and was now making eye contact with those eyes. They had so much familiarity in them, the way they shined however it was much more emerald and filled with a trace of innocence.

"You should watch where you're going, even if you're trying to escape your problems. You'll end up hurting yourself." A low chuckle left his mouth as he extended his arm to help me get up. I accepted and apologised for bumping into him.

"I'm so sorry I should've looked where I was going. I'm so clumsy." I responded sheepishly, an innocent smile appears and a hint of red appearing on my face. I tried to put on the shy act and try to look in a distance as I watched through the corner of my eyes a large grin now appearing on his face and two dimples as well.

Bingo.

"Sorry once again, have fun on your jog." I start sprinting again and smirking at my appearance. He looked a bit dumbfounded, he was expecting some sort of conversation. Don't worry about that one love I have something saved up for you.

Well done Amelia Ellison. Well done.

My legs eventually gave up and it started wandering the streets of New York. This place almost felt like home before it all happened and I never got to enjoy it as much as I wanted. I always dreamed of being here with my mum, drinking the expensive coffee and sight seeing. It was all we wanted.

I admired the view and was looking at the world as she would've. Her sweet innocent soul enjoyed every little thing even the rush hour. She tried to see the beauty in everything but for me it was all pain. It was all useless without her by my side. What was the point doing it all if you lost your purpose? How could I live without her. She was my everything and now I am ready to give her my everything. This one is for you mum.

"Hey stop it bear, come back." A less huskier voice from a past of mine yelled behind me. He was chasing his white Labrador. I started squinting my eyes but it was too late to realise it was chasing me. It pounced and knocked me backwards a little before jumping in rejoice.

"Oh my gosh I am so sorry. I apologise, bear is never like this." He rambles, trying to pry his dog off me, but was very resilient. He was latched onto me.

Bear.

"It's okay, I'm quite a big fan of bear as he is clearly a fan of me." I bent down to scratch below his ear and hold him closer to me.

"He's a beautiful dog." Still keeping my focus on the dog.

"Thank you." He was relived that I wasn't angry or causing a scene by his dogs behaviour. I look up to the owner of the dog, he was fairly built. The blonde dye still evident but his chocolate brown roots were taking over. He was wearing a tank top, probably to cool himself from the sudden heatwave.

"I'm Niall. Niall Horan."

Niall. Gosh I haven't heard that name in so long. It's been what, 13 years? I realised how weird I looked just standing there, reminiscing.

"Hi I'm Amelia Ellison." I extended my hand for a small handshake which he gladly accepted and offered a smile. Is everyone lovely around here.

"I'm assuming your new?"

"How did you know?" I was frankly puzzled at what gave it away I was a new neighbour.

"One thing you'll learn Amelia, is that everyone knows everyone around here. We recognise a different face. My family own a small restaurant near the seaside. You should visit it's called off shore, I can offer you a little gift as an apology for bear." So much sincerity and innocence in his voice, it was almost childlike still. He never changed, my sweet Niall. So innocent.

"I would love to come visit when I have the chance." Lies. You liar.

We both departed and went our separate ways. That's exactly how it should be. We needed to keep our worlds separate. I won't let him get entangled with my problems, he doesn't deserve that kind of pain. I want him to remember me as his sweet innocent Blaire, at least it will be for the better. He's the last mind I wanted to corrupt, just the way the media turned an 8 year old into a monster. Responsible for heinous crimes by association.

The world was cruel and now it's my turn.
